Like you literally got NOTHING for it.
DD wanted to go to drama club for ages. Loved the first term. Asked if she wanted to do the second term. No sooner had a I sent the money across she came and told me she didn't want to do it and has been moaning and tantruming about it ever since. £90 completely wasted. I'm feeling pretty salty about it atm. Help me feel better about it with your wasted money stories?

Yep two months of football for my son; at least I no longer feel bad for not enrolling him in it I guess

Commiserations.

There are more than I can remember. Ones that stand out: estate agent charging £££ for not changing a lightbulb after moving out. Countless parking tickets I incurred out of carelessness over timings/rules. Gym membership for a year - went twice.
Controversial but a lot of money spent on other people when I was younger (presents, favours) thinking I was being “kind” when I was actually being taken advantage of.

Last smear test came back positive and cell changes
Did a lot of research and spent hundreds on immune boosting this , that and the other
A year later I get my latest result (yday)
Still positive with cell changes
Really disappointed

I bought a portable mini-disc player about a month before ipods launched.

pinksquash13 · 24/05/2024 22:37

£100 odd on baby ballet then realised it was shit and so barely attended.

Are you me? 😂 Could have written this post

£200 on noise cancelling headphones I left on the first flight I used them. 🤦‍♀️

MissingMoominMamma · 24/05/2024 22:45

£700 on a piece of kit for my sport that some fucker stole a few weeks ago.

All the expensive sunglasses I’ve left in various places. The €10 pair I bought two years ago stick to me like glue though 😂.

The ULEZ charge my son tried to ignore, which I ended paying for 🙄.

The 3 week airbnb stay I booked in Madeira just before lockdown… 😕.

shiningstar2 · 24/05/2024 22:45

Walking machine: me: £850
Used twice.
Cycling machine: DH: £150
Used about 5 times.
Even more annoying they take up every inch of space in the spare room. We keep having the talk about getting rid ...but then decide we are 'definitely' going to use so just keep them 🤔😁

Leafalotta · 24/05/2024 22:46

So many! Most recent was a ££ woollen jumper that I accidentally shrank in the normal wash after a couple of wears. I spent a lot on a particular Playmobil set for my dd at Christmas and she has barely glanced at it.

Recently an example similar to yours but with a particular sport, I'd bought loads of kit too (at the club's insistence). The list is endless!

Frozenblox · 24/05/2024 22:47

Gym subscriptions i havent used

ChickenDeChick · 24/05/2024 22:47

Inflatable hot tub. Purchase before energy prices shot up. Been unused since as can't afford to run/heat it 🙈

onemorerose · 24/05/2024 22:49

tiktok shop. It’s a scam

Plants that turned up their noses and died immediately, or sacrificed themselves to slugs. And to add insult to injury the pots they came in are multiplying in my shed.

PostMenPatWithACat · 24/05/2024 22:53

Rover 416i, 1996. First one engine blew up (under warranty), then another a couple of years later which Rover replaced with a fight. Got rid after 5/6 years. It drove beautifully but we didn’t get our money's worth.

It became a recognised problem - something to do with pressure building up on the head gasket.

Oh this brings back memories of when my ex boyfriend buying a treadmill caused a massive fight over the uselessness, cost and bulk of the thing, was a key cause of our break up 😂

To be fair, it was one on a list of many problems we had…if anything, I wish he’d bought the treadmill sooner

Thejackrussellsrule · 24/05/2024 22:54

DH bought tickets for Chester races earlier in the week, hurt my back on Tuesday so I can't go, can't find anyone who wants the tickets - £90 wasted.

Nigellasstickytoffeepudding · 24/05/2024 22:54

This week comings camping trip. Weather is going to be shocking so not going just to sit in a muddy field and wet tent for 4 days bored to have mountains of washing and a wet tent to dry out. So actually after typing that out perhaps £170 well spent? 😂

DisgruntledPelican · 24/05/2024 23:04

Rugby Tots. Enjoyed it until the point where the cooling-off period ended, then refused to go again.

Bluey’s Big Play. Lasted a couple of minutes before dissolving into sobs (why? It was lovely!)

And entirely my own fault - forgetting to renew a registration when the penalty / fine was 2x the charge, plus the original charge. Kicked myself.

£100 Warhammer set for DS birthday that he begged for for about 5 months. Built one figure and it's been gathering dust since. Gravitrax for DS Christmas that he desperately wanted, used for a week and gathering dust. There is a pattern here...

grafittiartist · 24/05/2024 23:08

Husband until in a diesel car.
So depressing

Very many plants from garden centres - probably £500 per year for the last 4 years. Every spring in a fit of weeding I yank stuff out and only later remember that I’d planted new perennials the previous summer. I reckon at least half of all purchases have ended up in the compost.
