How often do you clean yours out?

OP posts:
gano · 03/04/2024 19:09

Every time I use it! I'm a bit of a grub by MN standards, but I can't believe that anyone wouldn't clean it each time.

BoobyDazzler · 03/04/2024 19:11

Pretty much every time it’s used.

catsrus · 03/04/2024 19:12

most evenings, I might have used it to make toast early on in the day, and then probably roast veg for evening meal. I pop the bottom tray into the dishwasher and wash the basket. Takes 2 mins.

today I've only used it for toast so no need to wash ....

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 03/04/2024 19:14

Most times irs used - if there any day or oil.

Vitriolinsanity · 03/04/2024 19:14

I like to leave it until the fat has congealed and then peel it out.

Sporner Air Fryer

Chitterlina · 03/04/2024 19:18

Eh? Every time we use it. I can’t imagine not doing that, it would be gross.

ObliviousCoalmine · 03/04/2024 19:18

Every time, and I put the removable rack thing in the dishwasher each time.

I'm not a stickler for cleaning things generally but I can't see why you wouldn't clean the air fryer? Would smell and taste like lots of old food otherwise.

K0OLA1D · 03/04/2024 19:19

After every use if I've not used a liner. If I use a liner I don't bother

snowstorm2012 · 03/04/2024 19:19

I use foil in mine as a liner so lines the bottom and sides too, then just wrap the foil up into a ball and throw it away afterwards

MuscariFan · 03/04/2024 19:20

I am normally fair and square in skank territory on ‘how often do you … ?’ posts, but I wouldn’t dream of not cleaning the drawers after use!

Youdontevengohere · 03/04/2024 19:21

Every time I use it, otherwise the next thing you cook gets the remnants/smells/grease from the last thing you’ve cooked on it.

Biomic · 03/04/2024 19:21

We have the silicone baskets and use grease proof paper. But DH forgets 🙄 they are smelly and a pain to clean just like the George Foreman grills which were all the rage years ago.

You don’t clean the oven after every use though? It seems a lot of faff for something that was supposed to bring convenience to my life!

But I don’t put food directly on the floor of the oven the way I do the air fryer-I see the drawers as like pots and pans so wash after every use.

Is be less worried about hygiene because high temperatures are generally involved, and more worried about a fire risk

Are they supposed to bring convenience? They’re no easier to use than an oven. We use it as it’s cheaper than heating the whole oven for small things, not because it’s any more convenient.

Girlintheframe · 03/04/2024 19:22

Every time. They are so easy to wash and nothing sticks to them either

Figgygal · 03/04/2024 19:24

Clean it every time it's used

Donna1001 · 03/04/2024 19:24

Every time.

I use liners, but very rarely oil. In fact, I think the only thing I’ve used oil with are home made chips.

Londontown12 · 03/04/2024 19:24

I use baking liners but still wash them out everytime I use them !
it keeps it nice and fresh otherwise be stinky x

MissSookieStackhouse · 03/04/2024 19:26

Every time we use it. Also use liners to keep things clean, so washing the actual tray takes seconds.

Notthatcatagain · 03/04/2024 19:26

Disposable liners from amazon, make sure you buy the right size and shape. I have a ninja and the big ones are about £7 for 50. Game changing for sure

I find it way more convenient. Easier to use and clean and loads quicker too.

MrsCarson · 03/04/2024 19:36

Whole drawer goes in the dishwasher after each use.

crazycatladie · 03/04/2024 19:42

Every other time. I only use it for chips, chicken nuggets. It stinks if I cook fish fingers in it so wash straight after.

Tequilamockinbird · 03/04/2024 19:43

Every time it's used. I just bung them in the dishwasher.

ThePoshUns · 03/04/2024 19:48

After every use. It's not difficult.
