Or do you tuck in now?

You’re not religious then? Eating them on Good Friday is completely against the whole purpose and meaning of Good Friday. I really do cringe at some posts on here sometimes.

No, we’re not religious.

thaegumathteth · 21/02/2024 22:14

Yes we await otherwise we'd be struck down by lightning surely? apart from Creme eggs and mini eggs they don't count

OttolenghiSimple · 21/02/2024 22:14

Big eggs- not until Easter Sunday
A sneaky cadburys crème egg with your afternoon coffee- any time

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 21/02/2024 22:15

Easter egg chocolate is usually made to a different recipe because it doesn't need to have as long a shelf life.

It is delicious!!!

A hollow egg that is cold and crunchy is wonderful to bite into.....

When I see some in special I often buy them for me and my sons to nibble on. It's too warm here to buy them and store in the pantry right now anyway....

EcstaticMarmalade · 21/02/2024 22:23

Big egg yes. Little egg(s) no. Anything up to about creme egg size is fair game.

BlowDryRat · 21/02/2024 23:08

I do, in theory, except for the ones I need to replace before Easter.

MummyMamaMe · 22/02/2024 19:28

I’ve had one of the cream egg chocolate bars but Easter eggs are for Easter 🤷‍♀️😂

Nicebloomers · 22/02/2024 19:32

Crabble · 21/02/2024 20:29

But chocolate tastes nicer in Easter egg form - and that is a hill I will die on!

I will be next to you on that hill. I just had a few mini eggs. You’re missing out, purists.

DP has this week started his Easter Lindt bunny he was given LAST year!

I’d have eaten it for him before now 😂

That is psychotic behaviour - instant grounds for a divorce.....

(Lighthearted, in case that needs spelling out to some people.)

Does no one else think Easter egg chocolate is lovely then?

Yes! Thin, snappy, hollow chocolate is the best. I eat at least one Easter egg per day as soon as they hit the shops. Mars chocolate is top, then Nestlé, then Cadbury’s for me. My best egg is a Maltesers Teasers £1.25 egg. Delicious 😋 👌. I move straight on to Easter eggs after hollow Santas. I am an unabashed piglet 🐽

Correct

Xmasbaby11 · 23/02/2024 22:52

I don’t eat big eggs early and wouldn’t buy any yet, but have had plenty of mini eggs etc!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/02/2024 23:02

I eat really limited chocolate but I will have an Easter Egg on Easter Sunday.

I bought my DD a bag of mini eggs in the middle of January ( I was buying petrol) she was all It's January but she ate them.
Then yesterday she scoffed half a Terrys Chocolate Orange that had been lurking in the pantry since early Dec

No wonder the poor girl is confused Xmas Grin

FizzyWizzyBubbles · 23/02/2024 23:05

I've eaten approx 10 already.
So have dcs some small ones. They have a weekly treat and when on offer it's cheaper to buy an egg than a bar of chocolate.
However they have all been purchased for ' eat now' purpose

I have ones for Easter that ive put under the bed which will stay for Easter only. Not to be touched

SoEmbarrassed2024 · 23/02/2024 23:10

Fuck no. They go in the shops on Boxing Day, so they are fair game

TheTwirlyPoos · 23/02/2024 23:16

Had some creme eggs before lent started but wouldn't ever dream of buying a big one before Easter Sunday. DH and I buy each other's anyway.

OooohAhhhh · 23/02/2024 23:20

I don't buy them, they are a complete rip off. You pay for the fancy packaging and massive boxes in my eyes. Once you've taken them out of the packaging they are a huge dissapointment. If I do buy them then it's after Easter when they are massively reduced.
You get more chocolate on a standard chocolate bar.
However I am partial to a small Cadbury's cream egg 🤣 I buy those all year round occasionally.

panda42 · 23/02/2024 23:21

Yes eat them now. Morrisons had the small ones on offer at 75p last week, cheaper than a bar of chocolate. Have eaten 2 already 😂

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 24/02/2024 01:51

And bunnies? Where do you stand on the deliciousness of rabbit ears???

Yummmmmm

MinnieMountain · 24/02/2024 05:07

I prefer cakes to chocolate. I have bought DS’s Easter egg though.

EverlastingStar · 24/02/2024 05:08

No we eat mini eggs etc before Easter

Not the actual big main Easter Egg though because that's insane

mondaytosunday · 24/02/2024 06:48

Yes I wait. I really only get them for the kids and they are so overpriced - if I wanted the chocolate I'd just get a bar and eat that.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/02/2024 07:35

Yep eaten 2 Freddo eggs this week already

Cheaper than the chocolate bar and defo tastes better in this shape

notthatkindofFatCat · 24/02/2024 07:58

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 21/02/2024 20:10

it’s psychological I’m sure but to me, chocolate in the shape of an egg is just yummier than in a bar. So I definitely eat them before Easter to make the most of the tastiness!

Oh that's so interesting. I'm the opposite and always have been. I used to ask for bars over eggs even when a little kid.
