Intense celebrity crush: menopause or madness

I previously considered myself a pretty sensible 40 year old. I went, as is tradition, with my DH & DCs to the Christmas panto.
I was really not expecting to develop the most intense weak-at-the knees teenage-style crush on the panto baddie (who was the most amazing actor and extremely attractive, but probably a decade younger than me and wearing a really bad wig). I keep obsessively googling to see photos of him and I’m starting to feel that I’m going mad.
Has anyone else every experienced this? Is it my age, will it pass?

Go on, share with me who it is. I won’t tell anyone 😉! Sir Chris Whitty, Sir Patrick Vallance or Sir Jonathan Van-Tam?

@DopeyS Seriously, how could you drag your eyes off Raylan Givens? That walk, my word! And it's definitely Raylan Givens, not Timothy Olyphant, as I watched "Deadwood" (one of the absolute best shown I think I have ever seen - up there with "I, Claudius") and found his character, the Sheriff Bullock, to be an unlikeable prig. Al Swearengen aptly described him as "His Holiness, the sheriff".

When I saw "Justified" I realised that he's a better actor than I gave him credit for, but I don't find him physically appealing in anything else I've seen him in eg Santa Clarita Diet, although I do like him. I suppose it's like Patrick Stewart, who I found attractive only as Jean-Luc Picard - not even in the previously mentioned I, Claudius when he had hair (wig?).

I've just woken up in the arms of Matthew MacFadyen. He stared intensely into my eyes, telling me how difficult it had been since our break-up all those years ago.
Then we kissed long and hard...

My 40something crush was the (very) young man who (bear with me here, this is quite niche) was the lead in the US Navy’s version of Gangnam Style. I googled him and I was old enough to be his mother.

50 here and currently crushing hard on Barry Keoghan and Jeremy Allen Wood. Both young enough to be my children 😳. At the other end of the scale, I definitely wouldnt say no to Tcheky Karyo.

@Tezza1 I do rather like Raylen too. I've watched all of Justified but there's loads of adverts as it's coming to Justified. I started watching the new series too. He looks very good grey too. There's something about Cousin Jonny though!

It is weird how it's possible to fancy someone but only in one role and in any other role you're just not interested in them.

You’re only 40 OP! It’s totally fine. I am totally obsessed with a celeb at the moment and use it as just a bit of escapism. Love my DH with my whole heart but sometimes it’s nice to let the mind wander for a bit!

Since starting this thread I've fallen down a happy internet rabbit hole googling crush-worthy actors. Jack Lowden, OMG, that accent! I think I'm developing actual feelings 😆

I have a crush on someone practically every time I go to the theatre, including Googling afterwards. Especially for boring kids’ shows- helps to pass the time.

Joining the Jack Lowden club. He's not my usual type but I saw him in The Gold and was hooked. I could definitely see him as Bond. If him and Tom Hardy ever act together I'll be needing a long lie down afterwards.

Taron Egerton is another one but luckily I can switch it off by picturing him as Eddie the Eagle.

Peter Mullan is my other crush. First saw him playing a paediatrician in a drama called This Little Life.
Loved him in Mum too!!

I used think Dominic West was gorgeous (circa The Wire) and then he played Fred West. Can't look at him now, in anything 🙈
