Can anyone recommend any good ones?

I've just finished Down the Hill (thought it would never end at one point 😂) and did the Lucy Letby podcast and the subsequent Trial ones by Caroline Cheetham.

Started "vanished" on impact podcasts but not the biggest fan of the style of it / the guy that presents it to be honest.

Bit of a derail...do you search for each title mentioned previously or is there a podcast app or website I can follow?

(Sorry, digital tourist here! I remember when I was a librarian and we got all the past copies of the Guardian on CD . It was magic 😳☺️)

I have Amazon music and when I open the app I can switch between music and podcasts at the top, then search the name of the show.

I have another app called podcast addicts but have found everything I want on amazon music so far.

The Teachers Pet/Trial

The Last Vanishes- is excellent but could do with some editing imo.

West Cork

I love Let's go to Court! It is two American best friends. They do go off on tangents a lot but they make me laugh and the cases are really interesting.

I couldn't get into My favourite Murder, I've no idea why to be honest they just annoyed me. I also listen to Anatomy of Murder which is an ex detective and and ex prosecutor and made by the same production company as Crime Junkies.

I'm currently listening to Dr Death.

Others are:
Teacher's Pet
The Lighthouse
Twin flames
Liar Liar: Melissa Caddick
A very British cult
The retrievals

Murder she wrote has some good stand alone episodes, whilst the rest are a series.

IIdentifyAsInnocent · 10/01/2024 08:17

I also listen to Dateline which is basically the audio from the TV shows and is very in depth.

Someone knows something is a podcast which has an investigative journalist looking into unsolved crimes. I love the guys British Colombian accent and the stories are really good.

On another note, if anyone fancies starting a true crime podcast with me then let me know!!

Topofthemountain · 10/01/2024 08:18

Others are:

Hoaxed
Can I tell you a secret?

I prefer scams and hoax based podcasts.

PickledPurplePickle · 10/01/2024 08:29

There are so many good ones out there - most have been mentioned on here already, but a couple to add

Foul Play Crime Series - if you watched the Keepers on Netflix, there is a huge deep dive into this, also series 15 'My Aunt and the Hitman' is excellent

The Trail Went Cold

The Garden of Eden

I mainly use RadioNet but currently have a subscription going for Wondery as there was a couple of podcasts / episodes I couldn't get on RadioNet. RN does have adverts but they are not overly intrusive.

WildFlowerBees · 11/01/2024 20:29

I've listened to most recommended on here, I enjoyed Betrayal also.

Are there anymore that have a conclusion and doesn't have 5 mins of ads to skip through every 10 minutes?

The Garden of Eden

The trail goes cold is very good

Real Crime Profile is good, a mix of US and UK cases, with behavioural scientists analysing everything.

Also have a soft spot for Hollywood Crime Scene, which delves into a lot of the scandals and mysteries of old Hollywood, and also more recent stuff.

Topofthemountain · 23/01/2024 19:42

Just coming back to say thank you for the recommendation for Your Own Backyard - it has been addictive listening. I have cried, gasped in horror and smiled at sweet poignant parts.

Just about to start on the ones from the period of the trial.

A while to go for these, before starting on the other recommendations. I listen when I'm driving (at least 30mins each way, plus work driving) so get through them relatively quickly.

MarjorieDanvers · 23/01/2024 20:06

I liked ‘Death in Ice Valley’ as mentioned above.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned ‘Someone knows Something’ with Dave Ridgen - very good podcasts I thought

CodenameX · 23/01/2024 21:13

Real by Naomi Channel is really good.
I believe there is a new episode most weeks. I listen to it on Spotify.

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 23/01/2024 21:29

Don’t think it’s been mentioned on here yet but The King Road Killings is a really good one. It’s a deep dive into the four college student who were murdered in Idaho. The presenter is local I think and it’s thorough and excellent.

Hunting Warhead is excellent but very grim. It follows a team of international police as they try to take down a child abuse site on the dark web.

I very much enjoy Redhanded and Crime Junkie but more so the former because I think as a British woman roughly the same age I get the humour and the references a little better. Crime Junkie is very US centric which is fine but Redhanded cover more international cases and a wider variety of crimes.

Duckswaddle · 23/01/2024 21:41

Redhanded
All Killa No Filla
Sinisterhood
Bad Women

ASwimADay · 25/01/2024 16:52

Started with Serial - loved it so thanks for all the recommendations.. just scrolling through the thread again to find my next one!
