Can anyone recommend any good ones?

I've just finished Down the Hill (thought it would never end at one point 😂) and did the Lucy Letby podcast and the subsequent Trial ones by Caroline Cheetham.

Started "vanished" on impact podcasts but not the biggest fan of the style of it / the guy that presents it to be honest.

OP posts:

I listen to Crime Junkies. It's mainly US based cases and mostly unresolved but a good listen and I like the 2 presenters.

Skeldale · 09/01/2024 16:07

I enjoyed West Cork about the murder of a French lady in the West of Ireland and an Australian one The Teachers Pet.

Mr Ballen and Jim Can’t Swim are both excellent. Both are on YouTube, but Mr Ballen also on Amazon and various podcast sources.

I listen to 'They walk amongst us' but looking for something new. So following with interest.

TM1979 · 09/01/2024 16:15

I love Casefile especially the older ones with the other guy doing it. Some of the episodes are brilliant.
Teachers pet had me hooked and there’s an Irish one called The Witness which would break your heart. So good!

BambooFridge · 09/01/2024 16:19

I loved 'The lady vanishes'.

It's really long though...but for good reason!

BambooFridge · 09/01/2024 16:19

I nearly swerved into a ditch when I was listening to it, just as a warning.

Fridayfederica · 09/01/2024 16:20

The True Crime Enthusiast is my go-to. I also listened to a 7 part podcast called Ghost Story (Pineapple Street Studios) recently that was fascinating.

Whiskyinajar · 09/01/2024 16:24

Crime Analyst with Laura Richards is my go to. She is superb and was previously head domestic homicide and New Scotland Yard.

She is excellent on domestic abuse and her analysis is spot on.

FuckYouEzekiel · 09/01/2024 16:31

Crime and Coffee Couple
Detective Perspective
Crime Weekly
This is Monsters
Military Murders
The Outlines

Two that i really enjoy that are not quite crime related are Against All Odds and Real Survival Stories which both tell individual stories on real life near misses than interview the subjects. One interviews the British guy who dived into the Thai caves and helped the young football team out. They all disregarded him and didnt take him seriously. Until they realised he was a real life hero. Really facinating.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 09/01/2024 16:37

Buried Bones - historical crimes. Kate Winkler Dawson and Paul Holes present.

ChampagneCommunist · 09/01/2024 16:37

True Crime Binge is great for finding new podcast series - he talks to a different podcaster in each episode, so you can see if you like their style and their story/ies.

Also, Truth & Justice - same host, Bob Ruff.

tobee · 09/01/2024 16:37

Bear Brook
Death in Ice Valley
Paradise
Shreds

There are so many out there. I've found that some are highly recommended but disappoint on listening; a lot of it comes down to whether you gel with the podcast host. But because podcasts are (mostly?) still free you can just stop listening and move on to another. Smile

tobee · 09/01/2024 16:38

Also do you want a new story every episode or 1 story over some weeks?

flipent · 09/01/2024 16:39

Can't see that any one has mentioned Red Handed.
Real mix of crimes and generally a different one covered each week.

Whatineed · 09/01/2024 16:39

The Dateline Podcast

GooglyPop17 · 09/01/2024 16:41

Criminal with Phoebe Judge, not your usual crime podcast but voice is so soothing. Great content too.

MissusKay · 09/01/2024 16:43

In the Dark
Accused

JennyBeanR · 09/01/2024 16:55

I love the Prosecutors podcast and have binged most of their episodes.

SlightlyJaded · 09/01/2024 16:56

RedHanded
The Teacher's Pet
Up and Vanished
They Walk Among Us
Criminal (I also love Phoebe Judge's voice)
In the Dark (made me cry)
Someone knows Something
Casefile
West Cork
Scamanda

Not True Crime but I also like:
Something was Wrong (first season is best)
This is Actually Happening

tobee · 09/01/2024 16:57

Love Someone Knows Something ❤️

tobee · 09/01/2024 16:58

Also do you like storytelling or investigative op?

listlovers · 09/01/2024 16:59

Casefile has only ever had one (anonymous) host. Another vote for Casefile, and Generation Why, Over My Dead Body… and Teacher’s Pet.
