I'm not on any dating apps currently but have been in the past. I have started a new job and joined a couple of classes but there are very slim pickings there.
So just curious to know where you met your current partner? Online or in Real Life?

Met DH when he was walking his dog and I stopped to stroke the dog (unusual beautiful breed). We got chatting and ended up going for a drink. From that day we saw each other every day until we got married 5 months later (we didn't live together).

Been married 44 years

Match.com 5 months ago.
I'd been single for just over two years after a 24yr relationship. Decided to see what OLD was all about.

He was my second date, still early days but I'm smitten! We both feel this is it, really happy and hoping neither of us ever have to do OLD again 😂

Guardian soulmates in 2008. He was very much the diamond amongst what was -and I'm being generous here - a steaming pile of lefty misogynists.

Tell us more about the lefty misogynists please!

I went on a works outing with my mum to a wine festival and we started chatting and then we kept on bumping into each other. Eventually he asked me if I wanted to meet up for a drink. After that we kept on bumping into each other. Married for 35 years now

An online music chat forum back in 2007. We chatted online and on the phone before finally meeting up a couple of months later. 6 months later we were engaged. He lived an hour away so we rented a little flat about a year after meeting and he relocated to my town. Got married in 2009, had 2 DC and just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. I almost chickened out of that date too as I was ashamed of being overweight and was embarrassed he wouldn't fancy me IRL. So glad I plucked up the courage to go.

Pub in our hometown. We were both home visiting from afar, my group knew his group. Was fate. 😉

He was my Knight on a slightly grubby go kart, we met on a summer camp in the USA, he was teaching go karts and I was teaching home economics. I was about to go into a PGCE and told him we wouldn't last as it was going to be a really rough year for me, I didn't belive in marriage and didn't want kids, we've just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary and it's the youngest spawns 15th birthday today (and incidentally celebrated by racing go karts down a Quarry track!!) 🤣🤣

OfMark87 · 05/11/2023 21:28

In real life.
In a bar in a city that none of us were from. Had a LDR for a year and I moved to be with him.

10 years later we've just got married and already have 2 kids

BatildaB · 05/11/2023 21:47

At a protest. Then we were friends for a few years before slowly moving into a relationship. Wouldn’t have looked at him twice online, partly because his spelling is terrible, so I’m glad we met in ‘real life’ and I got to know the more important things about him first!
