Sticky Toffee Pudding or Bread and Butter Pudding?

I can’t decide what to make some guests next week.
Which one would you prefer?

B&B pudding of course, it's vastly superior to sticky toffee. And preferably served with a sauce made from rose hip syrup.

Sticky toffee.

B&B pudding is revolting. Slimy bread makes me feel sick, I don’t care how marvellous the recipe is supposed to be.

Just checking people know that bread and butter pudding (delicious) is different to bread pudding (vile)

Bread and butter but if the guests drink and like Baileys get the recipe for that as it’s absolutely delicious.

STP as a one off treat. With a gurt dollop of clotted cream.
But if I was forced to eat one of them every day it would be Bread and Butter pudding. But made with clotted cream and a smidge of saffron, Cornish maid that I am.

I adore BBP but think STP is a safer bet as many, many people don’t like dried fruit unless you were planning a more unusual BBP.

Sticky toffee is lovely but a bit predictable. B&b made really well is more of a treat to me. But I'll scarf either 😁

Sticky toffee with toffee syrup and custard!

Bread and butter pudding (made my way, which is light and soft and slightly spiced) every time, but quite honestly I wouldn't serve either to guests. If I had to serve something so stodgy then I would go with a syrup or chocolate sponge, with custard.

I first had bread and butter a few years ago.

I didn't realise it was literally just....bread and butter.

I don't think sticky toffee pudding is at all stodgy. Made correctly it's a very light sponge (with a load of toffee sauce granted)

Bread and butter pudding. Lovely home made bread and butter pudding is much much nicer than sticky toffee which is just far too sickly

I followed a recipe....it was just bread and butter, but with some raisins and cinnamon, I think?

Either way, it was vile

(Although looking like that was possibly my fault )

I would love you to post either or both recipes!

Not keen on either really - Apple crumble or tart and custard would be more seasonable and less sickly
