What a vile, loathsome behaviour on air. Who watches GB News? Is this the attitude they have about women on that channel?

No I can't be arsed. This is a prelude to try and take GB News off air. Both Caroline Bokes (anti feminist idiot) and Owen Jones (amti feminist idiot and lauded Russell Brand for years) have called for this.

They have given 4 sitting members of this Tory government their own programmes. Other "politicians" who have been given their own shows are from UKIP, Reform, Reclaim and the DUP.

I've just looked at their roster of presenters, they also have a former Labour MP and Simon Evans who is my favourite comedian. They have mix of very good presenters like Andrew Doyle and SE and not so good. So what if some are Tory MPs, maybe they're the ones with the most sensible views atm. I find it hard to think of any Labour/LD sensibles. But it is good to have a range of views and find it very sinister that certain people are trying to cancel GBN.

Everyone deserves a space to air their views. We definitely don't have to agree with them.
I refuse to watch the BBC and GBN but wouldn't want either of them to be taken off air. There definitely needs to be more accountability though, and concerns addressed in a timely manner.

But no-one has an entitlement to airtime on a broadcasting channel to air their views. I don't know about you, but if I turned up at BBC, Sky, ITN, GBN etc and demanded a bit of airtime to give everyone the benefit of my opinions I'm quite sure they would tell me to get lost.

And does anyone deserve any space to air really extremist views? Suppose, for instance, someone wanted to advocate publicly in favour of hanging, drawing and torturing members of a particular ethnic minority, should they be given a space for that purpose?

No because that's against the law duh. Not quite the same as perfectly mainstream views which are not given an airing on the other channels.

You might want to ask yourself why a special outlet has to be created for these perfectly mainstream views. Give you a clue - they’re too far right for most of us to stomach.

I didn't mention the former Tory MPs who work for them and I'm not sure what Simon Evans has to do with anything. I have said that they have some decent presenters.

It is good to have a range of views. GB News doesn't provide this. It provides a right wing view and a far right view leading to such excellent debate as:

The occasional left wing guest does not correct the Right Wing bias.

Laurence Fox is a bitter man whose ex wife, who didn't have the advantages of birth he had, is more successful than him. She's a more successful actor and he's even tried a music career and she was more successful than him at that at a very young age. I think he is trying to find a purpose in life, but his repellent views are preventing this.

Absolutely correct. GB News is for right wing nutters and their fans. To pretend otherwise is to lie to yourself and others. You know what you are GBN fans, why not just admit it instead of pretending it's a bastion of free speech?

I, a person who has NEVER voted for a right wing party in my life and never will, have the extremely mainstream view that claiming that some women have penises is false and misogynist. I continue to hold my lifelong view that sex matters politically (esp given every right women have had to fight for has been based on it), that & that sacking and hounding women for saying so and them having to crowdfund to raise legal cases in order to get basic UK equality law applied is extremist and sinister. Not to mention the medical scandal in the making.

Sadly, GB news is one of the very few channels that will even permit that view or discuss those facts. Which I and many other left wing women knew about YEARS before they did, or any other RW outlet for that matter.

Unfortunately it seems you can "stomach" that. Pat yourself on the back, how righteous you must be. Tbh, rather than GBN, I'd rather other news channels returned to the view that discussion of contentious issues in public was a positive thing instead of just ignoring whatever was inconvenient for whatever non-democratic lobby group it decides to have training it, or for pandering to people who have tantrums and meltdowns if someone says something they even mildly disagree with.

And then perhaps we can start reducing this ridiculous polarisation that the likes of the odious Fox lap up for attention.

Lawks I give up. None of you have defined right or far right. It's just as meaningless as me blethering on about left and far left. People just don't bother thinking anymore just reach for meaningless labels (I blame social media and the fact that people can stay in their silos and never have to counter opposing views).

Why the need to define right wing or far right on this thread? It's easy enough to look online and find out yourself. Similarly for left wing and socialist. Blindingly obvious GB News is modelling itself on US Fox News given how successful that has been.
