Your stomach is stronger than mine @TooBigForMyBoots.

Mrsjayy · 28/09/2023 10:21

I follow gb news after I read something 0n here probably something to do with the slug DW. It's an eye opener!

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 10:50

As I said on another thread wtf is wrong with people that they think the BBC has some sort of moral high ground over GB News just because it reflects your politics more. This is a week after it came out that BBC had provided a chauffeur to take a 16 year old to RBs house and facilitated his misogyny (no times were not different about of people were disgusted with RBs comments at the time). And still hosts Frankie Boyle and others. GB News are angels in comparison.

GB News is for the hard of thinking. This is latently what most of the audience think which explains the general tolerance of misogyny. That this tipped over was all due to advertising and the fact that this was planned.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 11:24

It can be tough going @blossomtoes but sometimes you get moments of brilliance, like when their online poll showed that most people who voted Leave would now vote Remain or lots of people tweeting in that they were bored of the Meghan Markel stuff.🤣🤣🤣

It also fun to watch the cock ups and the right eat itself.

It's more than that. GB staff and regular guests were pissed off at Fox attacking a journalist. GBN hasn't been able to make the most of the Russell Brand story because they stood by Wootton. And I think one of the owners is in the running to buy the Telegraph, so doesn't want his reputation damaged too much by the channel.

bombastix · 28/09/2023 11:41

Well yes because OFCOM I think can block the purchase of the Telegraph if this happened. If planned, then GB News owner may be adjudged to fall short of that standard

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 11:52

I think BBC is for the hard of thinking, I stopped paying the TV licence several years ago because the group think was getting me down. It's beating sky news and bbc news figures address declining. GB news have both sides of an argument including gender issues which the BBC have been terrible in due to their misogyny.

SinnerBoy · 28/09/2023 11:58

It's beating sky news and bbc news figures...

Not according to the site above.

GBN: 3.44 million.
BBC: 12.13 million.

bombastix · 28/09/2023 11:58

So what. You are the only person making this comparison. GB News is an opinion channel and thus defiantly for the hard of thinking - that's why they had Fox on it.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 12:08

GB News have both sides of an argument...

Right and Far Right.
🤣🤣🤣

Nope, I didn't say its beating bbc, I said their figures are declining. They are beating sky news. IMHO BBC figures are only so high because they were historically a trusted news source (eg in the 80s when I was a child), they would not be high if they were just staying out like GB News. Not any more.

And why does GBN having a dubious person such as LF make them for the hard of thinking and not the BBC who had Jimmy Savile and others on for years and indeed created him. I would argue he was worse than Fox, so you disagree? Unlike the BBC they acted rapidly.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 12:14

I don't think many intelligent people listen Laurence Fox, do you @Coveescapee?

bombastix · 28/09/2023 12:15

I don't like Jimmy Saville but I don't see it's relevance? The BBC meets editorial guidelines by OFCOM. GB News may well not do after this.

News is about facts. Opinions are cheap to get. They also mean you need simply agree. Thus for the hard of thinking.

Oh do grow up. Those terms are meaningless these days. Have you not noticed that many (including BBC favourites) have accused gender critical people (ie women and men who think women can't have a penis) of being far right?

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 12:23

I've noticed the repercussions from BBC's Stephen Nolan report into Stonewall. Who are the BBC personnel that have equated being GC with the far right @Coveescapee?

Oh and my terms are not meaningless. GB News is a right wing mouthpiece. It's not a news channel.

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 12:40

No I didn't say BBC personnel. I'm referring to people who are regularly hosted in the BBC such as Billy Bragg https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.spiked-online.com/2023/04/05/the-petty-tribalism-of-billy-bragg/amp/

As far as I'm aware as i don't watch BBC GC feminists such as Kathleen Stock are rarely invited.

The petty tribalism of Billy Bragg

The self-proclaimed trans ally is tripping over himself to be PC.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 12:54

I don't remember the last time I saw Bragg on the BBC and anytime I have it's been about music. You can't lay Billy Bragg's views at the BBC's doors. That would be ridiculous.🙄

And what has any of this to do with GBN and Laurence Fox?

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 12:59

No it's about who they feel to have acceptable opinions. GB News is alot more unbiased and will have anyone on and host a proper debate rather than attack people as the BBC do even though they are in no position to take the moral high ground. I am only making the comparison because people on here seem to think GB News is the worse channel ever.

DanielsDancingMonkey · 28/09/2023 13:01

He is a sad and disturbed little man. I worry about the impact that this will have in his children. He’s already made them so blackface, filmed them, and shared it on Twitter.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 13:14

The BBC have people with loads of opinions on. Even Laurence Fox. Are we discussing the same BBC?🤔

GB News is not unbiased. It is unashamedly right wing.

I don't think GB News is the worst channel ever, but it isn't a News channel.🙄

LlynTegid · 28/09/2023 13:17

I feel sad for his children. If ever there was a process for children to end any relationship or disown a parent, Laurence Fox is a good argument.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2023 13:24

Fox blames Billie Piper for the distance between him and his sons, often accusing her of alienating them or stopping him seeing him.

He is an inadequate human being.

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 13:26

My point is saying something is right wing is meaningless. What do you mean by that@TooBigForMyBoots ?

BIossomtoes · 28/09/2023 13:30

Coveescapee · 28/09/2023 13:26

It really isn’t meaningless. Look at who it employs and who owns it.
