Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

Calling someone a stud doesn't mean they're passed around. And, anyway, it was clear that the doctor was just being jokey.

Not very professional although though hey .teachers have been done for much worse. Stop defending the rot. Just last week I wA defending schofield as genuinely believed the young man was of a more respectable age.

Stacy Solomon is on LW isn’t she? She is with the same management company as PS (until he got the heave ho last week, for lying to them) and the person who looks after her is PS’s daughter.

This is a very good shout.

If you're defending someone speculating that that young man was being passed around between everyone, then you're the rot. It's a horrible thing to hang around that young man's neck.
People have lost their minds and judgement over this.

I'm not speculating that but I am saying if someone is 15 when they start working somewhere and people knew that then they should be safeguarding that child. Children's presenters should not be commenting unprofessionally like this..I am not the rot for pointing out what many are saying. I never once said he was passed around either. Maybe you read that elsewhere

The person I responded to speculated that Dr Ranji's photo caption calling the guy the resident stud meant that he was being passed around amongst the presenters. (See quote history) That's the comment I condemned. Then you accuse me of defending the rot at TM when I'm in fact defending a young man from having scurrilous rumours said and written about him.

And to be clear, he was 20 when he started working at This Morning.

"New on the Schofield scandal… His much younger #ThisMorning colleague received a financial settlement from ITV, I’m told. They have been given numerous chances to deny this but have chosen not to, as has Phil. The plot thickens"

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 30/05/2023 21:05

House of commons on Tuesday morning. Hope heads roll👍

OrbandSpectacle · 30/05/2023 21:18

Televised!

Gothambutnotahamster · 30/05/2023 21:22

How / why are MPs questioning this? What right do they have? Nothing illegal has been claimed and ITV is a private company?!

I'm no PS fan by the way, but don't understand this!

OrbandSpectacle · 30/05/2023 21:25

But it is understood that the committee has also informed them that they will be expected to answer issues of public concern regarding the Schofield revelations.

From the Express. Definitely because it is of huge public interest.

LizzieSiddal · 30/05/2023 21:33

@Gothambutnotahamster Mps do have a right because it looks increasing likely that several staff at ITV were very worried about the behaviour of PS towards a teenager, and ITV bosses have covered this potential grooming up. Safeguarding should be top priority and it seems bosses would rather protect their stars.

Twonewcats · 30/05/2023 21:36

I've never ever heard the term stud being used to mean a man is being passed around.

OrbandSpectacle · 30/05/2023 21:38

Protecting their cash cow rather than some dispensible, easily fobbed and allegedely paid off lowly staff member.

Grooming, exploitation, staff concerns ignored, people who asked questions were sacked, cash pay off made to young staff member, ITV said they spoke to the young man about the relationship with Phil, young man denies this, so presumably ITV lied.

And that’s just for starters, more to come between now and next week I imagine.

Popcorn121 · 30/05/2023 21:47

The term ‘stud’ is a bloke that gets a lot of attention and sex, isn’t it? I assume it comes from a ‘stud’ horse or other animal that is the male used to mate with numerous females for breeding.

Paul2023 · 30/05/2023 22:01

I can’t keep up with everything but am I right here?;
Holly W is still with This Morning , but is currently on leave?
She says she didn’t know about Philip Schofield’s sexual liaisons with a runner?

She is angry at Phil for hiding it from her, hence the fallout?

Is that it in a nutshell?

Paul2023 · 30/05/2023 22:03

But it’s not bloody right is it, that Philip Schofield was a man in his late 50s, having sexual liaisons with a young man in his late teens?

It’s just absolutely not right !

HadleyVaughn · 30/05/2023 22:06

because anyone who has ever worked in or had anything to do with television knows what a corrupt money driven industry it is. It's money and profit above all else at the expense of human commodities. It's about time this got exposed and shown to the general public because that is how working conditions improve.

Television makes working for Gordon Gecko look like a quiet time down the abbey knitting with the mother superior.

gailforce1 · 30/05/2023 22:08

Princes Trust have dropped PS as ambassador - it didn't take long for them to decide not to wait for an ITV investigation.

Gothambutnotahamster · 30/05/2023 22:13

I understand that @dayswithaY but the government doesn't intervene when it happens in other private organisations- that's why I'm curious as to why they have this right.

dayswithaY · 30/05/2023 22:18

@Gothambutnotahamster I dunno how these things work but I’m guessing it’s in the public interest as This Morning have unfettered access to people at home for hours a day. If the organisation is rotten to the core maybe that’s something that should be looked into.

Is there anything left for him in the public arena? He has a huge ego, and is unused to anything less than fame, success and a large amount of public adulation.

OneFrenchEgg · 30/05/2023 22:30

It's all really shocking and sad. I had such a crush on PS back in the day, really wanted to marry him when I grew up!
Another sordid user of people, loads of enabling cronies, lives ruined - it's awful.

Paul2023 · 30/05/2023 22:39

Unfortunately show business is full of creeps and cronies..

I used to think Rolf Harris was a good egg. Obviously he wasn’t.

And I’ve grown up watching Philip Schofield from his early days in the Broom Cupboard.

These celebrities really have fooled many of us. It’s all fake. Disappointing isn’t the right word really.
