Anyone been following this madness? A thread popped up on my feed today about how JM asked for people to PayPal her cash donations last year to take 3 people to court for slander and libel. It’s now passed the date of when she was able to bring this to court and no sign of any money being returned.

Just seems completely bizarre to me, and now I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and seems this is in no way the first time.

She clearly has such a lot of problems. However, I believe she's on here, so I think it's important to remember that when we discussed this.

Honestly if you spend all your time lying and fraudulently relieving people of their hard earned money you can’t be upset when it’s finally called out.

Why hasn’t she started the refund process?

If people donated for a specific cause and it doesn't go ahead, they should receive the donated money back. It shouldn't just be passed on to a charity of JM's choice, as the donors may not support that particular charity.
She's doing the usual ostrich act on Twitter and lashing out at those who question her.
She needs to be investigated at this point.

CryptoFascist · 20/05/2023 09:02

She probably hasn't started the refund process as all the donations went into her paypal and not a JustGiving or similar, so will be muddled in with donations from her blog and people who chuck her some money "for all the good you do"

Or, she hasn't stared the refund process because, as per previous form, she has no intentions of refunding anyone.

Florissant · 20/05/2023 09:18

I suspect she will refund the money only if asked.

Slatkater · 20/05/2023 09:20

She is a complete scam artist. Frequently pleads poverty from her gullible fans who throw money at her. The crowdfunder for suing got a lot of publicity and raised 6 figures. She is now buying a house. Draw your own conclusions. Can’t get a mortgage due to multiple CCJ’s.

She won't, she will have spent it already.

Is she really buying a house? Wow.

People have asked for refunds and she's blocked them. Or says she has no record of it.

I really hope she is reported to the police for this. It's one thing begging for cash because you pretend you're poor, quite another to beg for cash for a legal case which never happens.

Ostryga · 20/05/2023 09:40

I do believe someone has reported her to Essex police, but what comes of that who knows.

I cannot believe she’s taking paid gigs to talk nonsense about herself when she’s robbed thousands off of people (one person who sent her £10 out of her £69 a week carer’s allowance - what the HELL) and is still not answering any questions about where it’s all gone.

OP posts:
Boudicasbeard · 20/05/2023 09:48

I think (and this totally personal opinion) that the money is all gone and that is why she can’t pay it back. There is a lot to be gleaned from
her social media that suggests it has all been blown on luxury goods and ❄️

hellohelloQwe · 19/05/2023 15:19

in the Guardian article, it states:

"she now identifies as non-binary and transgender, but is happy for us to use the pronoun she"

wtaf does that even mean? That she's a woman?

That she will jump on any bandwagon to be talked about and pitied "and here's my PayPal address if you want to help me sue the people who have seen through me and think I should be investiyfor fraud"
Quite bizarrely that Guardian article is one of the least critical stories about this con artist. Well worth reading the other threads about her to get the full picture of just what a scammer she is.
She also walks among us (or used to) Those threads used to be fun. Half saying "hold on a minute" and the rest saying "you're such a hero to the poor, to the single parent, to the non binary, to the autistic, to the every other label you've given yourself which then turned out to be a creation of your own".

I suspect she will refund the money only if asked.

People have been asking for years. As above, she's spunked it on herself. And 4 posh sideboards.

LolaSmiles · 20/05/2023 09:53

I read something that she was essentially a useful idiot for the people in politics who wanted to push the idea of the feckless poor by having someone they could use to say "see! See! They manage to feed their family on pennies, so what are you all moaning about? Ditch the takeaways and you'd not be in poverty"

At the time I thought it was a bit too tin foil hat for my liking, but I'm starting to think there's something in it. Think about how hard it is to get a platform these days that's as big as hers. People who are already in poverty know how to cut pennies down because that's their real life every day.

berksandbeyond · 20/05/2023 09:56

Yeah, she’s a complete scammer. Absolute bare faced thief and I can’t believe she continues to get away with it. I’m glad her son now lives with his dad (yes that’s another thing she lies about!)

Plus renting a bungalow with stairs, Georgian cookbooks and antique teaspoons which she taps along with her favourite Colombian marching band.

tigger2022 · 20/05/2023 10:02

I feel a tiny but sorry for her since she does have MH problems: trying to come up with the most good-faith, benefit-of-the-doubt explanation for the missing money, could things have just snowballed beyond what she was expecting or can cope with?

Ostryga · 20/05/2023 10:03

I have ADHD and epilepsy. Actually diagnosed as well. I’ve managed my whole life to not steal other people’s money. It’s quite easy actually.

She can’t keep hiding behind mental health as a way to carry this on.

OP posts:
tigger2022 · 20/05/2023 10:05

Right but not all MH conditions manifest in the same way, they don’t all have the same symptoms

Ostryga · 20/05/2023 10:07

I don’t think stealing money via PayPal is a symptom of ADHD but what do I know?

OP posts:
berksandbeyond · 20/05/2023 10:08

It’s just another excuse. Why does it have to be her conditions? Is it so hard to believe she could just be a terrible person?

No but starting out intending to do things, telling everyone you’re going to do them, then being too overwhelmed to actually start and letting people down is definitely a symptom of anxiety. I can relate although not to this extreme.

Her conditions don’t seem to pose a problem when it comes to asking for money or providing convenient excuses for her wealth .

ShimmeringShirts · 20/05/2023 10:29

@Nicknacky bevause that’s not how ADHD works. You are fully intending to do x, you’ve worked out exactly how to do x but you’re sat frozen because you have a deficit in the doing part of your brain. The anxiety builds, the stress and feelings of being overwhelmed builds because you need to do X, everyone is expecting you to do X, so you must be completely and utterly useless and worthless because you can’t force yourself to do X.

ADHD isn’t cute and fun and being ditzy. It’s not being able to do the shit you need to do. Granted I’ve never felt the stress of dealing with other peoples money but I’ve sure as hell sat in the supermarket car park unable to get out and do the bloody shopping because the thought of it is too much. There is too much to do and think about and get through before you’re safe back at home and able to block out the sheer noise of the outside world.
