It's 'Voila' not walaa!

This drives me bonkers! Why the hell do people keep writing walaa when it's voila!

Its said like Vwalla so I can see why it becomes walaa.

And it is not pronounced walaa. Most people with a modicum of intelligence pronounce the v as v, not w

There's loads of others thst I can't think of right now.

I had a colleague who said it a lot and pronounced it Voyler. I thought at first he was intentionally mispronouncing it as a joke (like a sort of copy of the Del Boy 'mange tout' joke) but after hearing him say it lots of times in client meetings I don't think he was.

Mondge toots 😂 it's mostly influencers I have seen use it so my own fault for following them I suppose! Walaaa unfollowed!

But we say mercy bucket as a bit of a joke thing instead of merci beaucoup

Wallah is a valid expression in Arabic.
Basically saying "it's the truth according to God".

If it is influencers are they using auto captions? That brings up some strange words.

I've seen it written and heard it pronounced 'Walaa!' 'Wollah!' and other variations.

I put it down to stupidity.

My pet hate is chorit-so. Even top chefs who should know better say it. Grrrr!
