Other than the obvious of Amazon Prime and Netflix... what subscriptions do you have that you think are worth paying for?

I am usually fair tight when it comes to spending money on myself but I am starting a new job soon and will be able to justify a little treat. Currently, I'm thinking of something like Headspace, but curious to know if there's anything you're prepared to spend money on that actually feels worth it to you, given the cost of living crisis and all that!

Thanks so much for any ideas. :)

Duolingo and the liberty beauty box

I was subscribed to Reposed (book subscription) but they folded, and then had the feel good book club subscription but they have just closed too, so I'm on the lookout for a new book subscription

Audible - have come to love listening to books, especially while doing chores or gardening, in my middle age 😁
And I already posted this on another thread - I joined The Modern Calligraphy Company's online calligraphy club. It's a monthly or annual subscription. There's a theme every month and one hour long class a week which you can either attend online or - brilliantly for me - watch the recorded class at your leisure. We've done maps, advent calendars, greetings cards, all sorts of projects - sometimes a different thing each week, sometimes building on it each week - this month is envelopes - more fun than it sounds 😁

You can post pictures of your work, look at what other people have done, ask about kit to use, ask for input from the tutors on Feedback Friday etc. I love it! I've always loved ink pens and lovely paper and this gives me the excuse to use them 😃 Because the classes are recorded I can do them when it suits me, some months I watch them each week, other months I binge watch! I really get in the flow and find it both relaxing and that I'm learning and stretching myself (in a completely manageable way). A bargain for the annual cost!

And no, I don't work for them 😆 although I'd love to - they have ALL the pens, inks, paper to try ... <happy sigh>

Nothing except Amazon subscriptions for monthly Lavazza coffee beans, CIF Bathroom Mousse and Lenor Unstoppables.

Because somewhere between the sex, drugs and rock and roll, and 2023 I became the type of person who has monthly deliveries of Lavazza coffee beans, CIF Bathroom Mousse and Lenor Unstoppables.

🤣

riotlady · 29/04/2023 19:13

We get a Mud and Bloom box for DD, it’s seeds to plant and lovely nature activities. I quite enjoy it too!

MyFitnessPal

Error - Nutracheck, NOT MyFitnessPal!

PainAuChocowhat · 29/04/2023 19:27

A candle subscription box - DH and I usually fight to see who gets to the box first. Although I know candles are frowned upon on Mumsnet as the work of the fragrance devil.

inomniaparatis · 29/04/2023 19:40

Cheeky panda toilet roll
Bumps and Burpees fitness
Smol dishwasher and laundry tabs
National trust
Spotify
Kindle unlimited
And now so tempted by Earth and Wheat!

FusRoDah · 29/04/2023 19:43

Currently only netflix, audible and prime.

Previously at various points have had Readly, razor blades, tea, veg box, various magazines and premium podcast subs. Cost of living has made me stop most subs tbh.

Bobbybobbins · 29/04/2023 19:46

Never heard of Earth and Wheat so definitely going to look that one up!

Currently Now tv. Have had Netflix, Prime and Disney at different times but try to rotate and watch everything we want on one app then cancel it.

Have had a gin one before (loved that), Hotel chocolat, hello fresh, graze (felt that was v expensive latterly so cancelled), Italian pasta one, box of dim sum. Get a lit if vouchers for these as presents.
