Mine would be chocolate orange but I’d be screwed bcs I know everyone else seems to love it and it’d get voted in by a huge majority…

Coriander. And hard boiled eggs!

SpaghettifingerFusillitoe · 22/04/2023 18:15

@geminiflanagan i think you’d be safe if that was the whole dish 😅

There isn't much I wouldn't eat if prepared by a professional chef.

I'm not a huge fan of tropical fruit flavours though so something with pineapple or melon in maybe?

Havehope21 · 22/04/2023 18:17

I listened to a podcast with Matt and he said that they get the usuals like offal a lot, so I wouldn't want to say kidneys, liver etc as it isn't very interesting. I would opt for something like celery or fennel as I can't stand either of them - although I genuinely don't think I would be able to eat them if it got voted for...

MaryJean87 · 22/04/2023 18:17

Anything chilli based. I hate spice. It sets my mouth on fire and makes my belly cramp.

SpringNTing · 22/04/2023 18:17

Lamb. the smell makes me retch, and I couldn’t put it in my mouth.

But people love it so I bet I’d get my food hell if I was ever on the show 😆

SpaghettifingerFusillitoe · 22/04/2023 18:19

@MaryJean87 my 7yo said chilli/hot spice and I’m giggling at the idea the cruel public would vote to watch a child force down a vindaloo or something 😁 lovely Ollie standing by with some expertly paired fruit shoots

Prawns, mashed potato and sweetcorn.

BarelyLiterate · 22/04/2023 18:20

Oysters & okra, due to the texture as much as the taste. Apart from those two things, I’m a complete omnivore.

SpaghettifingerFusillitoe · 22/04/2023 18:20

@BarelyLiterate theyd probably give you some champers with the oysters at least!

Unlikely to come up on a cooking show, but really cheap processed meat like Spam, luncheon meat, hot dog sausages and tinned meatballs. My whole body convulses with disgust at the smell. Too many miserable experiences of being made to eat them as a child.

More plausible in a Saturday Kitchen context - prawns. Dirty little fuckers.

BarelyLiterate · 22/04/2023 18:22

OK, it’s a deal!

Havehope21 · 22/04/2023 18:22

@jay55 prawns would be a serious contender for my food heaven! I am agnostic about mash - can take or leave it (but am not keen on things like potato farls / fishcakes that are really potato-ey).
@BarelyLiterate with you on oysters - they remind me of snot 🤮 . I quite like okra in Indian dishes.

TroysMammy · 22/04/2023 18:23

Oysters, mussels, anything with visable tentacles, celeriac.

orangegato · 22/04/2023 18:23

Offal. Mushrooms. Good lord they make me shudder.

iliketobooogie · 22/04/2023 18:24

Agree with PP on oysters etc, also I'm just not that Into fish! It has to be tuna or fish from the chippy, maybe a fish finger, anything else just tastes toooo fishy 😫

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 22/04/2023 18:24

I know this is completely irrelevant to the post.. but I found Adam Kay really awkward to watch this morning

SpaghettifingerFusillitoe · 22/04/2023 18:25

@DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy i felt he was trying to host. Also Matt repeatedly calling Caribbean food weird felt a bit awkward

Cold cucumber and yogurt soup (I was actually served this once at a dinner party).

Meat with fruit.

Okra!

ChristmasFluff · 22/04/2023 18:27

Okra/ladies fingers. I'm really not a fussy eater but won't eat these - the texture!

and I'm one of the people who tastes coriander as soap

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/04/2023 18:29

Sorry, I've thought of another one - polenta 😟

catinboooots · 22/04/2023 18:30

Baked fucking beans 🤮🤮🤮

thaegumathteth · 22/04/2023 18:31

Anything spicy, I just don't get it. As a vegetarian it's been tricky over the years as often the only veg option was a curry. Thankfully things have improved lately but now everything is vegan which also annoys me for no good reason

AgrathaChristie · 22/04/2023 18:31

Polenta. Whoever thought that was a good idea?
And coriander in anything.

moonspiral · 22/04/2023 18:32

Broad beans
