How often do you open your windows?

My DH hates having the windows open... Ever. I open them as the house needs fresh air otherwise it feels musty. How often do you open your windows?

Unless mid winter (and if sunny i do it then too) they are open most days.

Our bathroom window is on the latch all the time. Our bedroom window is open at night. The others we open for 10 mins a day to get a bit of air through.

Every day for at least a short time. They are open on the latch from now until late October usually. If we are at home they tend to be properly open most of the day in good weather. You can tell when you walk in a house that never has windows open, it smells stale.

Every day especially during warmer weather. I like the house to feel bright and aired so shutters opened too. Drives my OH crazy as he’s a closed window bloke.

I don’t like cooking smells lingering either

Daily, especially in bedrooms. Even if just a crack in winter.

In winter - one hour every morning.
In warm weather most doors and windows stay open all day.

Bedroom window - either all the time or for a brief time every morning in cold weather.
Living area, several times a day. I like fresh air.

Bedrooms, toilet and bathroom always left on the catch and then back door open for a bit every day.

For most of the year my windows are all open all of the time. When it's very cold, then I close the windows during the day and open again at night.
I need fresh air circulating! I cannot stand breathing stuffy stale air and cannot sleep with the window closed.

Upstairs windows are open permanently. Even in the depths of winter, we don’t close them. I can’t stand to sleep in a sealed up bedroom.

Downstairs - pretty much daily. The patio doors were open all day today as the weather was so nice.

Every day, winter, summer, raining whatever. Even if just for 5 minutes. Makes a huge difference.

Bathroom window everyday. While I shower and then closed before I go downstairs on the coldest days in winter, after breakfast/before I leave for work most of the winter. By this time of year my bathroom window is open in daylight hours and bedroom window on weekend mornings. In summer I leave bedroom and bathroom windows open 24/7.

Bedroom window all night whatever the weather. Bathroom all day.
The others I should do more often really but usually just whilst I'm cleaning.

Rarely at the moment, as we have mechanical ventilation (with heat recovery to help with the heating) so we constantly have fresh air coming in.

Also we don’t have a back door just sliding patio doors, so they hey are often opened to let the animals in or out.

In the summer they are fully slid open, which opens up the lounge fully.

Everyday regardless of the time of year. Bedroom window is open all night and bathroom window open most of the day.

Every morning open the small windows for a couple of hours.the spare rooms have on night vent 24/7

Every day. Bathroom window is always open whilst in and after showers. Bedroom window open at night. Other windows randomly opened at random times.

Every day unless it's blowing a hooley, then I just leave the bathroom open and others on the latch (open slightly)

I shut the bathroom and bedroom windows around an hour ago. Unless the temperature is in the minuses, they get open for at least some time every day.

Does your DH have Hayfever? Is that why he's adverse to having the windows open?
