What do you have on your dining table?

I don't mean all the clutter and nonsense but when it's nice and clean, what do you have in the centre? Mine is lovely and clean right now and I have a vase and unlit candle but it looks a bit dull.
If you can post actual links or give me suggestions, I'd be very grateful Smile

When is clean and clear, nothing at all.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/04/2023 19:48

Currently a jigsaw because I have nowhere else -prefer it clean

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/04/2023 19:48

Missed the point maybe! But the colours liven it up

Nothing, unless I have been given flowers. Then the flowers go on the table, I wouldn't buy my own flowers to go on there though.

Lulu1919 · 07/04/2023 19:50

Right now a bunch of daffodils in a clear glass vase

carriedout · 07/04/2023 19:53

Nothing other than table cloth, the central place mat, the cutlery jug, the water jug.

It looks nice and clear, I hate flowers on the table.

KnownByAssociation · 07/04/2023 19:55

Aside from the child's paraphernalia like you said, we have a fruit bowl, a napkin holder and currently some flowers in a clear vase that are clinging on for dear life. Can't understand people who have the table constantly set with crockery etc that said maybe they are child free 😂.

Ragwort · 07/04/2023 19:56

Usually nothing or a pile of paperwork, at the moment I have an attractive Easter Tree with decorations and a pile of donations someone has given me to take to a charity shop ... we don't use our dining room regularly so it can be a bit of a dumping ground but I much prefer it when it is all neat and tidy.

A huge peace lily affectionately known as Nigel

sixfoot · 07/04/2023 19:57

We have eucalyptus stems in an antique brass pitcher

Hellocatshome · 07/04/2023 19:58

It is never clean and uncluttered apart from Christmas Day when it has a Christmas table cloth and the nice cutlery on it. No room for a table decoration cos that's where all the veggies go.

MaryJean87 · 07/04/2023 19:59

I have a big fancy glass fruit bowl with fruit in. It's usually cluttered with the kid's paper and pens though as well.

catinboooots · 07/04/2023 19:59

My work shit because I haven't cleared it away from Thursday. When it's tidy just a candle and a vase of daffs

dietcokelime · 07/04/2023 19:59

A runner and flowers - currently a small planter with some spring bulbs in. Around Christmas it's absolutely packed with candles and decorations 😂

pizzaHeart · 07/04/2023 20:00

where is it?
the table in the kitchen is never empty. It’s always got at least water jug, kitchen towels and medicines on. The one in the living room is technically a dining table as well, when it’s clean and tidy it’s got nothing on ( flowers are in a different place) It’s light oak so I love it as it is.

Babdoc · 07/04/2023 20:03

A large vase of forsythia and daffodils from the garden, on the end of the table, and a small cut glass holder, just two inches high, in the centre, which I fill with tiny flowers such as aubretia and primroses, muscara, kerria blossoms and whatever else I have in bloom at present. It makes a nice table centre as everyone can see over it to talk across the table, and it leaves room for serving dishes. There are also four silver candlesticks.

shutthewindownow · 07/04/2023 20:14

Daffodils 🌼

defi · 07/04/2023 20:33

Usually a cat, not that she's allowed but she rules the house you see.

Workyticket · 07/04/2023 20:36

Nothing, ever. The bloody cat lies in it because it's under a velux window and gets warm in the sun

RosesAndHellebores · 07/04/2023 20:39

Six table mats stacked in the middle. Two cats.

VineSt · 07/04/2023 20:41

A nice pot with a fern. It’s the only thing my cat has never touched.

redspottedmug · 07/04/2023 20:44

A runner and a charger on the dining table

A cloth, tray with pot plant and candle or oil burner, napkin holder, place mats and coasters on the kitchen table.

isthismylifenow · 07/04/2023 20:46

Three fruit bowls, and an amaryllis plant.

(I don't normally have 3 fruit bowls but it's orange season here now and we buy them by the pocket)

I had a vase with protea flowers as well but I let them go today.

It usually has some keys and a handbag in it as well.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 07/04/2023 20:48

5 arm candelabra in gold
Looking at getting an even bigger one and a fancy runner

We have a Victorian style table

Lottsbiffandsmudge · 07/04/2023 20:48

Water jug on a ceramic mat DS2 decorated at a pottery place (quite poorly!), salt and pepper grinders. That's it. Flowers not on table as DS1 gets hayfever and every year daffs set him off. They are on the hearth
