What do you have on your dining table?

I don't mean all the clutter and nonsense but when it's nice and clean, what do you have in the centre? Mine is lovely and clean right now and I have a vase and unlit candle but it looks a bit dull.
If you can post actual links or give me suggestions, I'd be very grateful Smile

Cats - they aren’t allowed on it but as they are cats the rules don’t apply to them, when the cats aren’t on it a candle

An iMac and a HomePod. We only eat at the dining room table if we have visitors which is quite rare, then they get moved, we generally eat at the kitchen table which is empty as it isn't very big, there are only two of us

Bowl of fruit, ds’s Lego, William Morris strawberry thief placemats, pepper grinder. We always eat there 3 times a day.

A folded up duvet with a fleecy throw over it for my cats to sleep on.

We never use it - not sure why we bothered with a table tbh.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 07/04/2023 21:13

Nothing I like the minimalist look.
But right now its full of the children's Easter crafts 🥰

Threeladsandaweelassie · 07/04/2023 21:29

I love dressing up my table, however it is currently filled with kids crafting stuff and shite from half term activities.
H&M home has lovely tablecloths as do maison du monde.

Usually piles of laundry but on a good day, I like it clear. It’s a lovely table and there are bookshelves and a fireplace to give the room a nice focal point.

TheChosenTwo · 07/04/2023 21:34

Usually nothing, even if I get flowers they go on the island or on the sunny windowsills.
We use our table at Christmas and pretty much never else!
We eat dinner around the island and I hate stuff left on sides so if anything is left on the table it’s dispatched sharpish.

maddiemookins16mum · 07/04/2023 21:35

I always have a vase of flower plus a bowel that the cat sleeps in.

Diversion · 07/04/2023 21:38

A dragon! It is about 2 feet long and a sod to dust.

Can we see a picture?! I want a big fuck off dragon on ours!

Awrite · 07/04/2023 21:45

Eldest dc has decided it is her preferred place to study so has commandeered the dining room.

Otherwise, the big oak table has nothing on it.

DarkNecessities · 07/04/2023 21:52

Flowers - always.

AuntieMarys · 07/04/2023 21:56

A runner, place mats and flowers. We eat all meals at the table.

Awumminnscotland · 07/04/2023 22:06

3 napkins, a glug glug jug, a sharpie and some kids Easter cards to colour in. It's tidier than usual.
We usually eat at the table but often just push the kids art crap to one end. Sometimes the pile gets quite big...

IHateFlies · 07/04/2023 22:16

It looks like totally clear is the way to go.
Thanks for the pic @Threeladsandaweelassie. It looks lovely.
A dragon sounds pretty impressive!

If it’s clean…nothing. I don’t like having ‘things’ on it just for decor purposes. But it’s rarely clear anyway. Right now it has a jigsaw, the fruit bowl and a bra in it!

NurseCranesRolodex · 07/04/2023 22:20

Lots of green indoor plants & 4 amaryllis with the most enormous white flowers, very tropical. However I prefer when it's just a plain rattan mat with candle on.

Schmutter · 07/04/2023 22:25

Our dining table is a large kitchen table.

Today there’s a large vase of forsythia from the garden, because Easter. It’s usually a pewter platter of lemons and limes which I buy weekly (and then throw away almost all of them), or a bunch of white flowers.

Schmutter · 07/04/2023 22:27

always have a vase of flower plus a bowel that the cat sleeps in.

😂 Sounds gruesome.

thistimelastweek · 07/04/2023 22:28

A train set.

A full on train set that's there almost every day of the year and gets moved for special occasions when we need the dining table.

WitheredandOld · 07/04/2023 22:40

A table runner, two candlesticks with candles and a vase filled with items from the sea/beach that we’ve picked up (we live near the beach).

Scoobydoobydoobydoo0987 · 07/04/2023 22:43

Clear at the moment but planning on getting this...

What do you have on your dining table?
MyMachineAndMe · 07/04/2023 22:50

Nothing at all except the table cloth. It is a very rare sight indeed.

imnotthatkindofmum · 07/04/2023 22:52

Quilted Table runner that my mum made me. I have a glass mid century style table and the runner is really bright colours. I also have a vase with faux eucalyptus in it.
