What do you have on your dining table?

I don't mean all the clutter and nonsense but when it's nice and clean, what do you have in the centre? Mine is lovely and clean right now and I have a vase and unlit candle but it looks a bit dull.
If you can post actual links or give me suggestions, I'd be very grateful Smile

Round melamine placemats, a carved wooden fruit bowl full of decorated eggs that I collect and an amaryllis in flower at the moment. See also, random bits of Lego, children's books and comics and abandoned plates like the flipping Marie Celeste when it has not been cleared up! Also maybe a condiments bottle or two

Daffodils every single week they are available. Then flowers from the garden until autumn.

I'd like to see the dragon too!

On ours we currently have a large purple glass vase with some orange faux stems (both from Homesense). I usually put a little Easter tree there but I'm not feeling like it this year as one of our DDogs had to be PTS on Thursday 😪

My husband and I now eat on trays in front of the telly.
My dining table has a delicately floral tablecloth in a Provence style in blues and turquoises but there is a large collection of houseplants on it as it's the only room that's bright.

AdoraBell · 08/04/2023 18:11

Vase with silk flowers.

TooBigForMyBoots · 08/04/2023 18:12

A pile of laundry and a beautiful bowl with unripe bananas in it.🍌

Reinventinganna · 08/04/2023 18:16

@LibertyLily wow! That’s gorgeous.

I want to see the dragon.

Ours is currently covered in crap but usually it’s just a fruit bowl.

Reinventinganna · 08/04/2023 18:17

@LibertyLily also, I’m sorry for your loss.

NeedToKnow101 · 08/04/2023 18:18

Bunch of daffodils in a tin can cuz I don't have a small vase.

DomingoinLittleOakley · 08/04/2023 18:21

A cat on a cushion usually. It's her favourite lookout point - direct line of sight to the kitchen and front and back windows so she knows what's going on in her hood.
And a laptop.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 08/04/2023 18:21

usually a seasonal plant /flowers currently a jug with daffodils in

TattiePants · 08/04/2023 18:28

The table in the kitchen always has a colourful vase with either real flowers or these from Amaranthine Blooms. The table in the dining room gets used on average twice a year (one of those times being tomorrow) so it will be whatever DS has scattered over it.

Nothing on the dining room table

coeurnoir · 08/04/2023 18:52

Two cats. Only one of which is ours 🤷‍♀️.
When he was younger a black lab puppy too.

Caspianberg · 08/04/2023 19:02

Nothing.
It gets used every day for all meals, baking, toddler craft, ad hoc work desk, so I like it empty to use without clearing.

Thursa · 08/04/2023 19:15

Tablecloth, Easter runner, tall vase full of pastel eggs.

Usually it’s just a tablecloth and a rose bowl.

Wildernesstips · 08/04/2023 19:24

This morning, unfortunately a cat poo (long haired cats - don’t ask).

Usually a big red bowl with fruit in it.

RightOnTheEdge · 08/04/2023 19:35

We just have a small four seater table in the kitchen.
It's usually got nothing on but today it has a vase of daffodils and an Easter card ds made at school.

whirlyhead · 08/04/2023 19:45

A padded sweaty Betty gym bag that I bought to use for MYSELF but irresistible cat adopted it and sleeps on it on the dining table. He won’t budge. Both bag and cat are now permanently there through all our meals.

I bought a new bag.

MumOf2workOptions · 08/04/2023 19:48

Thanks to wfh loads of junk like laptops and paperwork one end then we sit the other end!
No separate home office!

Snugglemonkey · 08/04/2023 21:18

Both tables have a vase and flowers. There is not supposed to be anything else, but the kitchen table often has placemats that have not been put away.

Q2C4 · 08/04/2023 21:25

My family do a seasonal decorative bowl type thing so colourful fir cones in autumn, festive bows in winter, decorative colourful eggs & flowers in spring... that kind of thing.
