What do you have on your dining table?

I don't mean all the clutter and nonsense but when it's nice and clean, what do you have in the centre? Mine is lovely and clean right now and I have a vase and unlit candle but it looks a bit dull.
If you can post actual links or give me suggestions, I'd be very grateful Smile

A three arm candelabra that I got from a bric a brac store. I also want to see the dragon!

PurBal · 07/04/2023 23:11

Fruit bowl. Placemats (stacked). Used to have a candle too but was too much. Often cluttered of course.

nicetoseetgesunsout · 07/04/2023 23:32

Flowers in the centre but nothing else

Ash table

Olive green running, wooden platter, white vase, creme coloured tulips.

Recently swapped the original gold runner for olive, looks much better against the ash table. Brings out the colour of the wood.

LemonSwan · 07/04/2023 23:39

Ideally nothing. In reality half the contents of the house.

cocksstrideintheevening · 07/04/2023 23:40

Clean and clear this time of year, a huge bunch of daffodils. The reality is during term time it's a dumping ground of shit.

Redshoeblueshoe · 07/04/2023 23:43

I am so glad that I'm not the only person with a pile of clutter on mine. But having family round on Sunday, so I'll have to clear it tomorrow

UndercoverCop · 07/04/2023 23:50

A runner, fruit bowl and napkin holder.
DS would love me forever if I put a giant dragon there

Catsmere · 07/04/2023 23:51

When I had a dining table, usually a cat or two occupied it.

DiscoBeat · 08/04/2023 00:43

Currently the Game Of Life board game which we were playing with DS12 earlier and which we'll finish over breakfast tomorrow.

My sewing stuff and the dining room door is shut. We eat in the kitchen. The table in there has an oil cloth on it, a big pottery plate from a holiday in France and an iron, paper napkin holder from the same holiday with a cockerel on the top of it.

caringcarer · 08/04/2023 01:52

A large glass fruit bowl. A flower arrangement my dd gave me for Easter.

DustyEmbroidery · 08/04/2023 01:57

A blue tablecloth and place mats and a glass seahorse.
Nothing is ever left on the table.

Tarkan · 08/04/2023 02:00

A Wedgwood/Vera Wang crystal centrepiece bowl which I got secondhand for around £20. There are a few on eBay right now for £50/60.

On a nice day it's empty. At the moment it's filled with random crap that people keep leaving on the table. Hmm

RedisthenewGold · 08/04/2023 02:08

A mug full of pens and pencils directly under the ceiling light which has 2 meters of dangling glass underneath it. The cat is not allowed on the dining table and never gets on it unless the mug is removed then it’s fair game.

Missingthegore · 08/04/2023 02:21

Currently packing boxes and paper and will for the next several weeks.

Usually the place mats all piled up together. Salt and pepper grinders that got kicked out of the kitchen for being a bit shit, OK for individual use just no good for seasoning a whole dish.

PurplePositivity · 08/04/2023 11:22

Fruit bowl and salt & pepper pots, fruit bowl varies between various degrees of fruit, vitamins and occasionally other random crap.

MelsMoneyTree · 08/04/2023 16:00

Nice placemats and a vase of flowers.

purplecorkheart · 08/04/2023 16:19

Placemats in a stack in the centre and a orchid in a pot that I have somehow not killed. Orchids and I usually do not get on but I seem to be gifted then regularly.

gingercat02 · 08/04/2023 16:28

A wooden turtle we bought in the Maldives. Not much help sorry!

Whatwouldnanado · 08/04/2023 16:33

Oak farmhouse table with cream painted legs. Round oak platter thing in the middle with a jug of daffs, wrought iron napkin holder and a quiz game. Couple of old pottery bowls with apples and satsumas in. Possibly a fat cat too if tye sun's out

tatteddear · 08/04/2023 16:33

A runner, two black candlesticks and 3 black and white polka dot bunnies for Easter. Usually it's that but without the bunnies and a vase of flowers instead.

Okunevo · 08/04/2023 16:36

Nothing in the centre. A lamp in one corner for homework/light to eat in the winter/corner of room lamp when we don't want the main light on. Pretty tea tray next to lamp. It's only a four seat table.

MrsMitford3 · 08/04/2023 16:37

Patterned tablecloth from Ibbi and a huge green hobnail jug full of pussy willows.

Makes me very happy
