Yes we did. Also an even bigger one at the reptile place in Alice Springs, called Terry.

Yep, hard agree! I was there near the end of Chavez rule and the atmosphere was febrile and felt like it could explode at any time.

Bloody hell you lot are well travelled. Haven't heard of most of the places here let alone visited them 😁. (We did go to Australia years ago and went to Rottnest for the Quokkas though)
It's a bit specific but Mrs Grumpy and I spent the night at Maison Belle Epoque, Epernay 20 odd years ago. After the housekeeper left we realised we were the only people anywhere in the building so we went and explored. Never met anyone else who has been there.

@teaandtoastplease my kids have their swimming lessons in Gwersyllt and we like the chippie there. We looked at buying a house on the old steelworks in Brymbo but they overlooked each other too much for us.

So no one has been to Gilgit Baltistan so far, understandable, it is a harsh place.

I’m not sure I have been anywhere obscure really, I’ve been to Fraser Island, I’ve also been to the galapagos (but school trips go there!), I’ve been to Pramir/Tajik National park.

Also been to Pokhara, Swaziland, Lesotho, the Rift Valley, Doğubayazıt, Cappadocia, Rwanda, Albania (Roman ruins at Butrint), Svalbard, Stewart Island and many others of the Aus/NZ ones. And Tehran, where I went to school!
