Have you been to a place no one else has been to?

I'll start. The idea is you name the place and a fellow MNer has to say if they've been there. However, you don't have to wait until you've been somewhere to post. Post your places and you'll meet the MNers who've been there. You can post 1-3 places (random numbers).

Yunohira a small village in Japan we stayed at a ryokan where the bathing area was in a cave, was fabulous

Cape Reinga NZ

Where the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea meet. It looks quite amazing where the waves from each crash into each other. There are whales there too

@Andylion I’ve also been to both Sofia (1 day was enough) and Athens. @EmmaGrundyForPM I’ve had a long weekend in the Azores (Faial) in 2008. There was still a vast amount of damage evident from the earthquake 10 years earlier.

I've been to Kuantan, Tierra del Fuego and Waitomo.

Is Kuantan in A Town Called Alice? I've never read it.

Mount Nebo (where Moses saw the promised land from), Jordan

Pingvellir (one foot in North America and one foot in Europe), Iceland

Abu Simbel (in an armed convoy for a four hour drive each way - that was fun), Egypt/ Sudan border

Juffureh and Kunta Kinteh Island, Gambia (where Roots was based)

Persepolis in Iran - I had no idea there was one in Brazil too

I have been to a lot of the other places on here in the US, Middle East and Asia.

Dili, East Timor and Atauro, an island off the coast. We spent the afternoon alone on a deserted beach on the island.

Niue. Another tiny tropical island nation.

Rotoroa Island off the coast of Auckland. That one has the easiest journey by far!

My first three have all been taken and Tanzania has been surprisingly unrepresented so I'm going for

Zanzibar, Tanzania and I could be more specific (are there bonus points if I am there right now)

Also surprised that Tanzania/Zanzibar hasn't been mentioned more. Been 14 years since I was there. Very jealous of you there now. Lake manyara, ngorongoro crater, etc

Trans Siberian, Trans Mongolian or Trans Manchurian?

I've done 2 out of 3 so far, and would very much like to complete the set if Russia ever settles down again.

Ulan Ude is worth a stop, should you ever find yourself out that way - a fascinating mix of Russian (including Old Order Orthodox) and Mongolian cultures, with a big Buddhist monastery/University.

Astrakhan, got its own Kremlin and nice coffee shops. Swam in the Volga delta….

Aceh province in Sumatra Indonesia….think it’s now on FCO advisory list.

Takamatsu Japan, lovely dirt with one of the finest gardens in Japan.
