Have you been to a place no one else has been to?

I'll start. The idea is you name the place and a fellow MNer has to say if they've been there. However, you don't have to wait until you've been somewhere to post. Post your places and you'll meet the MNers who've been there. You can post 1-3 places (random numbers).

I've been to:

Rwanda
The Whisundays
Cathedral Grove (Vancouver Island)

Seeing something from a train or boat counts. Plane doesn't.

For some reason.

@PolkaDotMankini I'm surprised I didn't see Las Vegas on more lists! I've been about 20x - but it's an easy trip from here.

@maranella Have you really also been to these same places as I have??? I am a bit suspect (or, I misread?) with the use of the slashes that were the same as my post...or have you been following me? 🤓🙃

Mt St Helens, Oregon coast, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, LA/Hollywood/Burbank, Maui, Miami, Chicago, Montana, Idaho,

I forgot to add San Francisco to my list of American cities. I'd love to hear about any random small town visits anyone has done.

Haha no! I lived in the US and have been to 25/50 states so I’ve been to many more places than the ones you listed, but I do love the Pacific Northwest.

How about a long layer in an airport? I suspect not.

PolkaDotMankini · 06/04/2023 22:11

@Mumtobabyhavoc I'll replace my taken Troy, NY, with Milford, NH. I accidentally stayed in a hotel that seemed to be part homeless hostel. Not the most successful road trip, that.

@ThisIsNotAmerican I've been to Egypt twice. Absolutely hated Cairo but would go back for the history anyway.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 06/04/2023 22:22

@ThisIsNotAmerican I've been to Gibraltar.

I'll replace my Ulan Ude with Vladivostok.

ElinorDashwood68 · 06/04/2023 22:31

Port Arthur, Tasmania

Mb76 · 06/04/2023 22:44

@Yolo12345 I’ve been to Lviv Ukraine - it was love at first sight

I don’t think anyone mentioned yet Kyiv Ukraine although I’m sure some MN’ers will have been there

I’ve also been to Crimea, Donetsk, Mariupol, Bakhmut and Olenivka - Ukraine although currently some are occupied by Russia. I grew up there and never thought these places would be spoken about in the in the world news 😞

@cheapskatemum in Nanyuki - being bang on the Equator - did you do the thing of watching the water go straight down the plughole rather than swirling in one direction or the other? I ended up in the Cottage Hospital there for a while, after a riding accident. The water thing seemed strangely fascinating!

@JimmyDurham did you stay at the wonderful Fleischers Hotel in Voss? We skiied in Voss a few times in my childhood. I’d love to visit it in the summer.

@LarkDescending No, it was summer and we camped just outside the town. I did buy my wife an anniversary present (a ring) in a jewellers there though. The second time we were there we came on the sleeper from Oslo on our way to Bergen.

LarkDescending · 06/04/2023 23:06

@amicissimma Yes to Isfahan/Esfahan.
