Have you been to a place no one else has been to?

I'll start. The idea is you name the place and a fellow MNer has to say if they've been there. However, you don't have to wait until you've been somewhere to post. Post your places and you'll meet the MNers who've been there. You can post 1-3 places (random numbers).

Haven’t read the whole thread, but I’m another one who’s been to Syria. Didn’t make it to Palmyra, sadly - I got ill and had to come home. “Oh well,” I thought. “I can come back and see it another time”. 😰

my places:

  • Cappadocia in Turkey
  • crac de chevalier in Syria
  • The Finnish/Russian border in the Arctic circle

I've been to Cappadocia! Beautiful place, especially from a hot air balloon

@Bouledeneige I've been to Penguin. I remember how funny the signs were for the shops and vets etc. I have a friend who was brought up there before heading to NSW.

I’ve been to Colonsay. Arrived by boat. It was fabulous. My favourite of the inner Hebrides.

I had my photo taken with a chicken in Chicken!
Went to North Pole and have a passport stamp from crossing the border at Poker Creek, Alaska.

I plan trips around places with silly names. Porcupine, North Dakota is a favourite.

You didn't have an Alaskan in the Alaskan with an Alaskan in Juneau did you?

(Alaskan ale in the Alaskan Hotel and Bar while hanging with a local).

I'm hoping that's a unique or at least very rare experience I had there. 😁

@ShanghaiDiva yes! High five. I have such lovely memories of the cable car, the bins shaped like animals (small pleasures when you're little), and the spinny ride right on the edge of a cliff so you felt like you were spinning high over the ocean. 😍
