Thing you do when you WFH...

...that you'd never do in the office.

My DH was shaving his beard In-between emails this week and it made me chuckle at the thought of him doing this in the office.

What things do you do while you WFH that would be completely inappropriate/slightly hilarious if you did them in the office?

I rarely wear a bra when WFH and it's bliss!

Paint my nails.

Sit with my budgie on my head during calls.

I lie on the sofa to answer calls

That's the stuff! 😂 It really makes me laugh to imagine an office full of people doing things like this.

I’m a call handler with a headset so I can do a lot of stuff whilst working and between calls ☺️

When it was the heatwave last year, DH and I sat in front of our computers in our underwear as it was so hot 😆 His work has a fully camera off policy but mine is camera on so I had a T-shirt handy for if anyone called unexpectedly!

Clean my windows every other month, I've got tons of windows, every hour I get up, leave my desk and clean two windows with my Karcher thing which takes three minutes.

Do 25 mins of yoga at lunchtime and at the end of the day.

Nothing else really, bit boring! I work longer days than in the office when I'm at home.

If it’s a meeting I don’t have to have the camera on, then I do all the boring stuff. Epilate my legs, do a footner, paint my nails, make a lasagne. Once even sat on the loo whilst having a IBD flare up!

Meetings with the camera, I set the robovac to vacuum the house!

I'm tempted to lie on the sofa for meetings but I'd worry I would fall asleep!

I do have the dog on my knee sometimes!

I also faff about a lot. Do the laundry. Stand in the garden occasionally.

I stay in PJs until lunchtime then have shower then.

Have my dog laying across my feet while I work. Couldn’t do that in the office.

DH reads or sometimes I go upstairs and find him having a nap.

Tbh before he was wfh he used to spend large chunks of his day travelling between different locations meetings. Doing them on Teams is much more time efficient.

I made a shepherds pie while listening/watching the key note presentation of a virtual conference.

Work in my gym clothes till mid morning then shower
Swim on my lunch
Work in the cafe
Prep the tea on calls

I know this isn’t the point of this thread, but after leaving my hideous job in a school office and now working from home for a charity I now: exercise before work, take a break every few hours for coffee/toilet/drink of water, take a lunch break without having to be on duty in a crowded dinner hall, leave on time, don’t work evenings or weekends…. The list goes on.

oh and at 2pm every day I make myself an options hot chocolate as a little treat!

Wear slippers and sit with a hot water bottle under my jumper

What do you do?

Stay in my dressing gown, Hoover, watch TV, lay on sofa, drink endless tea, dance to the radio haha

I do my nails during meetings

And like a pp I often do mornings in PJs and have a shower at lunchtime

I do the housework if it's quiet. I'll be away from my computer an hour at a time and hope no one's tried to call me lol.
I also chill out and watch TV or will do my nails, do a bit of gardening. Bad I know. I take full advantage

Shower during my 20 minute break.

It would be a struggle in the office as there are no showers.
