How do I cook fishfingers?

87 replies

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 19:47

Could you help me please? I have some Fish Fingers.
The instructions are:-
Pre heat Oven to 220C/Gas mark 7 – Place on a pre heated baking-tray in the centre of the oven for 14 minutes.
I don’t have an Oven.
How should I cook them using a 800w Microwave?
I’d be grateful for some advice - thanks.

I can’t think they’d be too tasty microwaved tbh. If you have a toaster, I’ve done fish finger and waffles in these

Toastabags 100 Use - 2 Pack https://amzn.eu/d/gj0c6ke

You can make waffles in a toaster? What setting and how long please? Grin

Why did you buy food that you don't have the correct means to cook?!

My cooker broke yesterday. I have a freezer full of food I now can't cook. And very limited funds. Depending on how quickly I get a new cooker (landlords responsibility) I may well end up microwaving fish fingers.

@DanFmDorking were they any good?

Hahaha well you did answer the question 🤣

poshme · 23/03/2023 20:32

I'd take the breadcrumbs off, leaving just the fish. Then put in a bowl with a very small amount of milk and some grated cheese.

And eat them raw?

Rinkydinkydoodle · 23/03/2023 20:36

@getafringenotbotox I just stick them in (in the tosta bag) on quite a high setting until I start smelling cooked potato 😂

They have instructions for the toaster on them
now. I usually do 2 or 3 pops depending on what setting it’s on. I don’t change the setting as I’ll forget to change it back for toast.

HumphreysCorner · 23/03/2023 20:43

Have you a craving for fish fingers now England have scored 😂

Hellocatshome · 23/03/2023 20:44

Waffles and fish fingers in the toaster was basically what I lived off as a student, didnt even bother with the toaster bags.

You don’t need those little bags to put waffles in! Put them straight in the toaster. I put the heat on highest then do them twice

poshme · 23/03/2023 20:46

@sanityisamyth no- I'd then microwave for a few minuets until it was all hot.

Rinkydinkydoodle · 23/03/2023 20:47

@getafringenotbotox 😂

Tonight from @BanditsGravyStain I have learned I don’t need the bags for the waffs. But I can’t do a face-melting cheese and tomato toastie without them 😋

Sunriseinwonderland · 23/03/2023 20:49

I blitz them for 4 minutes In the microwave. Everyone says they are disgusting but I prefer them done that way even though they are a bit wrinkly.

Sunriseinwonderland · 23/03/2023 20:51

I always do potato waffles in the toaster as well. I am a very lazy cook.

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 20:57

@CantSell - thank you soooo much for that site.
@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy Why did you buy food that you don't have ... They were my favourite flavour - 'Reduced'.
@MillicentTrilbyHiggins - were they any good? - they're fine.
... and England have scored again.

I don't understand some of the advanced words you've been using like 'pan', 'air grill', using waffles and bags and things.

Thanks for all your help - I appreciate it - I'm not hungry now.

I can't believe I'm posting this picture!

Why is your knife so freakishly long? 😂

getafringenotbotox · 23/03/2023 21:16

They look crispy? Are they? Or is it fake crisp? Did they taste ok?

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 23/03/2023 21:17

@DanFmDorking thanks. Gives the teens another option!

getafringenotbotox · 23/03/2023 21:17

Is that all you had? Two fish fingers?

Do you use them bags or put them in wild?

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 21:19

@getafringenotbotox - the picture was for you!
@Rooiboss - it was here when I moved in - I bought the fork from a charity shop - surely it doesn't affect what stuff tastes like?
