How do I cook fishfingers?

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 19:47

Could you help me please? I have some Fish Fingers.
The instructions are:-
Pre heat Oven to 220C/Gas mark 7 – Place on a pre heated baking-tray in the centre of the oven for 14 minutes.
I don’t have an Oven.
How should I cook them using a 800w Microwave?
I’d be grateful for some advice - thanks.

You can grill or fry them also not microwave wouldn’t be nice

SoftSheen · 23/03/2023 19:48

You could grill or fry them instead. I'm not sure a microwave would work very well.

SinisterKnitter · 23/03/2023 19:49

You really really don't want to microwave them 🤮

What cooking options do you have available?

You can also air fry if you have an air fryer. They would cook quicker so check them maybe after 10 minutes.

DanceMonster · 23/03/2023 19:50

You can’t microwave them, they’ll be soggy and rank. Grill?

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 19:51

Oh, Ok - I'm afraid it's just a Microwave for me.
I was wondering - should I cut them in the middle?
2mins at 800w?
I don't care what they look like.

Do you have any other means of cooking? Grill, air fryer, electric frypan, saucepan, electric grill???

CalpolDependant · 23/03/2023 19:51

1 minute on each side in microwave but will be soggy.

Toaster for however long the box says to grill them. 7-10 mins iirc. Might get some grease drippage which can smoke.

Frying pan is good.

AppleKatie · 23/03/2023 19:52

If you really must then you put them on for say 2 mins to start then keep checking them and putting them back on for 30secs/1min until they are really hot in the middle.

they will be soggy with a bit of an odd texture though.

they would be nicer fried if that’s an option?

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/03/2023 19:52

I do mine in my George Foreman grill. If a microwave is really your only means of cooking I wouldn't bother.

getafringenotbotox · 23/03/2023 19:53

Be sure to post a pic if you do microwave them I'm interested to see what will happen Grin

getafringenotbotox · 23/03/2023 19:54

I put oxo in pasta sauce a few weeks ago and everyone was wtaf why did you use oxo in it so I'm not judging Grin

Keroppi · 23/03/2023 19:54

What are you going to eat them with? They will be mushy and gross after you nuke them

CalpolDependant · 23/03/2023 19:54

I would microwave them between kitchen roll, if I were you.

I hope they’re going in a sandwich with lashings of chup. There’s really no other way I could imagine them to be even remotely palatable.

Custardbanana · 23/03/2023 19:55

Dry fry in a pan on the hob.

Like bolognese? I always put stock cubes in my bolognese.

SnarkyBag · 23/03/2023 19:59

Microwave for a minute turn them over a microwave again for another two. If they need a bit longer give them another minute.

Never done it myself but plenty of people do

DanFmDorking · 23/03/2023 20:02

Why did you buy food that you don't have the correct means to cook?!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 23/03/2023 20:06

I wonder if a toaster would work 🤔

getafringenotbotox · 23/03/2023 20:08

@CalpolDependant

I love your username hahah

No just a tomato one. I fucked it up completely it was vile. Couldn't be saved. Despite lots of suggestions it was shit.

Rinkydinkydoodle · 23/03/2023 20:09

I can’t think they’d be too tasty microwaved tbh. If you have a toaster, I’ve done fish finger and waffles in these
