The previous thread filled up fast, so here's another one with a reasonably topical title!

Here is another one

Pembroke Tory County Councillor & hairdresser Andrew Edwards:

"I think all white men should have a black man as a slave or black woman as a slave…There's nothing wrong with skin colour, it's just that they're lower class than us white people."

This is perhaps off topic, but I read this just now about the landlady of the "golly pub". Seriously?

Ryley denied that she or her husband were racist. “I’m not a racist in any form.” She confirmed that her husband had been photographed in a T-shirt from the far-right group Britain First. She said: “I don’t think Chris is a supporter of Britain First, he was just wearing that shirt because it was convenient at the time

Just a small selection of Facebook posts shared by that Golliwog pub landlord, who Suella Braverman was defending yesterday.

DuncinToffee · 12/04/2023 16:47

NEW: Three Tory MPs are under investigation by the standards commissioner.

Scott Benton and Henry Smith for use of parliamentary facilities + Matt Hancock for “lobbying the Commissioner in a manner calculated or intended to influence his consideration” about a possible probe.

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2023 08:07

"Criticising Braverman’s language is not about shutting down important debate about policy, or being culturally sensitive. It’s about demanding a home secretary who makes policy announcements that are accurate and based on fact and evidence, which Braverman has failed to do."

Think this is spot on by Warsi.

itsgettingweird · 13/04/2023 08:10

Someone on GMB earlier tried to defend her comments. Angry

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/04/2023 09:51

Good on Warsi.
Sunak keeping Braverman for so long speaks volumes for me, a good prime minister who doesn't agree would have removed her (or not appointed her) immediately that her extreme views were apparent.
Her being in post tells me he agrees.

I think her being in post is the price he pays to be PM - keeps the swivel eyed loons pacified
She's the ERG rep, basically

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 10:38

He bought her vote for him

I am beyond shocked at this. Just not sure what to say. Why hasn't he been ousted from the Party?

Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2023 11:50

He is also all these things...

Freemason, licensee of a Swansea pub and restaurant, magistrate, and a primary school governor

That makes me feel quite sick. He should be ostracised

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 12:46

He has stated the following

“I have self-referred to the Public Services Ombudsman for an independent evaluation. It is now in the hands of legal experts and the ombudsman. It would be unfair on the process for me to comment."

the Johnson effect

How do fucktards like that even exist in the 21st century? Angry

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 12:52

This is quite funny

Painful to watch.
Sunak jumps the queue to greet Biden.
Biden treats Sunak like a third wheel.

itsgettingweird · 13/04/2023 12:54

They were saying on GMB today that Advil Ray has been receiving all sorts of hate messages since Bravermans comments on British Pakistani males.

The problem isn't just they are saying it. It's the fact they are encouraging the electorate to believe it and spout it as truth. They are inciting racism.

Linker was right when he compared their rhetoric to how the Nazis started their hate campaign about Jews. They are encouraging marginalisation on minority groups by spreading fear around their pure existence.

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 12:59

I have seen some of the Twitter posts Adil Ray received, they are truly shocking and disgusting.

I have also seen Twitter posts defending Golliwogs, just as shocking and disgusting.

The prime minister made bringing them down one of his five pledges to voters.

As well as promising to cut waiting lists, Sunak also vowed to halve inflation, grow the economy, bring down the national debt and stop small boats carrying asylum seekers across the Channel from France.
However, the boats are still continuing to arrive in Dover, while it was confirmed today that GDP flatlined in February.

He did! But who will hold him accountable now it's not happening?

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/04/2023 20:52

I thought the civil service was supposed to be impartial.

https://twitter.com/DHSCgovuk/status/1646541019788222466?s=19

This from the department of health is surely being posted on behalf of the conservatives rather than the good of the country?

How can we trust our civil servants to do the right thing if they are politically biased?

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 21:02

Another pledge gone

That is shocking

Blossomtoes · 14/04/2023 00:22

That’s disgraceful. I worked in NHS comms for 20 years and that would have been totally unacceptable then. Any senior comms professional worth their salt would have refused to put that out.

Well that's one way to make sure more staff leave and aid them in their plan to privatise the NHS..... wait for the result of the nurses accept or reject later today 🙄

Agree.

Especially when there was a thread here the other day with an actual payslip from an F1 junior doctor.

They got paid £13.80 odd an hour for 40 hour weeks and were working way over that. That's £28,700.

Where are they getting the other £9k from?
