I just want a nice pillow. Any advice?

I’m so sick of the fuckers. They’re all shite.

Fancy posh quilted one was like sleeping on a bag of rocks after 5 months. Super posh memory foam one was like sleeping on a slab of bread.

Dd has has informed me she hates her goose feather ones (as do l) so I’m sort of stuck in a shit pillowgate situation.

Please recommend me a nice comfy pillow that doesn’t lose its shape and cause the pillowcase to twist round it. Is this rocket science?😭

Someone recommended a Dunlopillow on here about 7 years ago, and I got one, and it's been fantastic. Best pillow I've ever had.

I love the extra support ones from Asda!! They are really supportive, keep their shape and at £12 a pair, you don't have to bother washing them!!

The Premier Inn ones are here and are wonderful. Maybe a bit ‘high’ but l hoofed the underneath pillow out.

Bouncy and comfortable. They are quite big, but fit snuggly in a pillowcase and l prefer this.

5️⃣⭐️

Thank you for recommending them.

We have just bought some alongside a Premier Inn duvet. Would definitely not swap for anything else.

Did any of you get the soft premier inn ones ? They are hovering around my basket at the moment , but I can’t justify another duff front sleeper pillow.

Dunlopillo latex, they last for years, it’s all I’ll buy for myself after trying different types.

I put a thread about crap pillows on in February.

I was advised to get the Premier Inn ones.

I bought just 2 at first to be sure. Now we have 8. I love them. However they are high so you need quite a low bottom pillow. But they fluff up really well.

@lemoncurdcrumpets do they do the twisty thing? Where the pillowcase twists round the pillow.

l grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. We never had feather pillows, but we never had shit twisty ones either. I want what we had then.

If like me in the 70s and 80s you will of had one made up of 'scraps' of foam , the type that is/was used in sofa cushions.
I made myself one about 10 years ago and had it for ages ( until my dog was very sick on it ).
You can still buy the foam in places like dunelm and good cloth shops / haberdashers.

Cut the foam up into very random shapes about 1 inch square.
This takes a while but is worth it.
After about 2 weeks you may need to add a bit more foam.

To replace my manky pillow quickly I took a load of polystyrene beads out of a rarely used bean bag and put them in a old pillow case , the squeeking takes some getting use to but that was also very comfy , it was very supportive, I had it for years .

I like the Dunelm firm one that has a sort of seam around it.
Memory foam pillows are just awful imo and like solid slabs of meh!

Butteredtoast55 · 17/10/2023 19:29

This one....although if you've been to Dunelm you've probably squished it already!

I just want a nice pillow. Any advice?

Just realised this is an old thread....I'll get my coat!

We have sort of box shaped feather/down mix ones from TKMaxx. V comfy.
