I just want a nice pillow. Any advice?

I’m so sick of the fuckers. They’re all shite.

Fancy posh quilted one was like sleeping on a bag of rocks after 5 months. Super posh memory foam one was like sleeping on a slab of bread.

Dd has has informed me she hates her goose feather ones (as do l) so I’m sort of stuck in a shit pillowgate situation.

Please recommend me a nice comfy pillow that doesn’t lose its shape and cause the pillowcase to twist round it. Is this rocket science?😭

You have my sympathies and I love how you have expressed your frustrations. I took MN’s advice and bought the Dunlopillow and it is shite. I bought another recommended one and it was equally shite. The only good ones seem to be in expensive hotels, but I’m not given to nicking them. My search continues. Good luck. Pillows are such a subjective thing - one wo(man)’s cloud is another one’s slab of bread.

I second the tempur cloud I'm v picky too with pillows - it's expensive but I couldn't go back to any other pillow after this!
I think pillows are v individual aren't they and you do ideally want to test them out !

I’m having this issue too. I want chunky firm but soft large pillows that stay fluffy!

My last Dunelm one was a disaster, yes I squished it well in store . It was a perfect cloud for all of a few nights . Then it managed to turn simultaneously into a stodge that needs plumping up each night to such an extent that all the filling sort of ends up in the middle , but the second you lay on it…… back to pancake flat .

A friend swears by Home Store + More.

Also been thinking about TK Maxx.

And have heard good things about The Wool Room.

Mine really need replaced. They are about 20 years old & from IKEA/Debenhams.

This is the best thread, thank you!! I also have this issue. Has anyone tried a Milly pillow?

I just get Ikea ones and replace them every few years when they go rubbish. It's not very eco, but I don't think the expensive ones are any better. At least they don't break the bank this way.

I swapped pursue for amazon basics memory foam ones. They were pretty cheap, but very full and keep their shape well.

I've tried wool and other types, but memory foam seem to work best for me.

I have a bad back and joint pain so sleep is incredibly important to me and also difficult! Because I am a light sleeper my pillows are so important. I have two, and the top one is a copper pillow from Tesco which is so lovely and soft I would recommend that one certainly

This pillow Big Softie from the Secret Linen Store in medium firmness is fabulous but it's microfibre not feather. I couldn't commend it enough. Soft and lovely and keeps its shape well.

You can thank me later. I haven't tried the firm one so can't coment on that one

We've got the Hungarian goose down ones from the white company. Mine has gone a bit flat after a year or so though.

I second this! I've tried so many pillows, including the Tempur cloud one, but this one is perfect.

It has a core section made of pieces of memory foam, which you can remove or add to, to make it the perfect thickness.

@Seasider2017 this one?

Does it morph into a twisted mess overnight after a week?

Trouble is, those Premier Inn ones look quilted. And l had a quilted one that was great at first. Then it turned into a sack full of rocks as the quilting separated all the fluff out.

Di they keep they’re squidgeness?

Not sure who you are asking by yes the Big Softie one I've had for over a year and it is still pillowy softy and not lumpy.

They come with a quilted pillow protector but the actual pillow isn't quilted. After regularly buying and giving away many other pillows after a month or so we've held on to these for over a year and they're still comfortable.

So I’m narrowing down to Premier Inn and Big Softie.

Thanks for the help. Ive still got to go through a few more nights in my current deconstructed crap pillows. But there is hope!

We have Dorma forever full that I buy from dunelm and have found them to be the best that keeps its shape

Premier Inn ones are overly big - they need different sized pillowcases and give me neck ache. Good for sitting up reading though!

Personally I like Silentnight bounceback pillows. Nothing else works!

I have a wool one but this has been surpassed by a silk one. It is by far the best pillow I have owned. Having had whiplash many years ago, I have been through many, many pillows.

I just want a nice pillow. Any advice?

Martian pillow. Can adjust the amount of filling to your liking. It's not gone lumpy or flat.
