I just want a nice pillow. Any advice?

I’m so sick of the fuckers. They’re all shite.

Fancy posh quilted one was like sleeping on a bag of rocks after 5 months. Super posh memory foam one was like sleeping on a slab of bread.

Dd has has informed me she hates her goose feather ones (as do l) so I’m sort of stuck in a shit pillowgate situation.

Please recommend me a nice comfy pillow that doesn’t lose its shape and cause the pillowcase to twist round it. Is this rocket science?😭

I have a water pillow and have had for years. I could never seem to get comfy but I really love this pillow. It takes a bit of getting used to and I used to worry it’d leak etc but I’ve had it at for years and it never has. It’s a bit wobbly and you notice a bit of sloshing at first but it’s so comfy!

I rate bamboo pillows, I got them initially as I suffer night sweats but they are really comfy and hold shape/firmness.

I’m not sure a water pillow would be good for me. I bash my pillows round a lot, and would find sloshing noise very distracting.

I’ll look at bamboo ones.

I love my Panda memory foam pillow. Got it in December when we got a new bed. Took a few days to get used to it but wouldn’t be without it now! Pillow

User129867588 · 19/03/2023 16:07

The only thing with the panda pillow is that it’s slightly smaller than most pillow cases. I just fold the excess material under the pillow and works fine for me.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/03/2023 16:09

I think it was memory foam that made mine so slab like though. Line lying on a thick slice of bread.

Another Panda Pillow vote here, I love mine. It is the only pillow I’ve had that actually holds its shape and doesn’t collapse halfway through the night.

MurderSheSpoke · 19/03/2023 16:12

Premier Inn at home pillows are really comfy.

isthewashingdryyet · 19/03/2023 16:12

A wool filled one. Awesome.

Twazique · 19/03/2023 16:12

I can only sleep well on foam pillows, but not memory foam, I got mine from Dunlopillo.

MarshaMelrose · 19/03/2023 16:15

I've just been to Bensons and nearly bought a Tempur pillow. It was £100 but sooo comfy.

bobby81 · 19/03/2023 16:19

Following as I have the same problem. I've tried all diets including wool & panda as recommended by others. Still haven't found one to suit me. The trouble is that you need to try them first because it's such a personal thing. The wool room let you try pillows & return for a full refund if it doesn't suit (which is what I did.) The search continues.....

bobby81 · 19/03/2023 16:19

*sorts not diets!!!

unsync · 19/03/2023 16:24

Soak and Sleep feather pillow. Just washed one of mine after a nose bleed and it's as good as new - all floofy again. Very comfy.

Premier Inn at home pillows are really comfy.

I second Premier Inn at home pillowsI had 2 delivered yesterday and they are the most comfortable after spending a fortune trying to find the right pillows.I bought the firm ones..

JJ456 · 19/03/2023 16:27

Get yourself to dunelm where you can squish them all yourself and choose your preferred one 😊 it saved my life with pregnancy back/neck pain

Breadhead1 · 19/03/2023 16:27

I started a thread on here a while ago and was recommended a buckwheat pillow. The reviews were great, I was so excited but was so disappointed it's like sleeping on a sack of rice... the search continues🙄

Danceswithweasels · 19/03/2023 16:28

I am watching with interest. I have been trying for the last year to find a new pillow. The memory foam one moulded into a slab, I can't stand fibre ones, I have a feather one atm but have to fold it in two as the tethers have settled. When I was a kid I had one that was filled with little cubes of sponge foam which I remember being comfy but cannot find one now only blinking chopped memory foam which went lumpy.

Tequilamockinbird · 19/03/2023 16:30

I have the Tempur cloud one and love it. After years of awful pillows, I've had this one about a year now and wouldn't be without it. It wasn't cheap, think I paid about £120 (it's the one with the cooling layer in too) but it's worth every penny.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/03/2023 16:33

I’m interested in the Premier Inn ones. I’m going to look for those.

Im really allergic to wool, so have to pass on those.

Tulipvase · 19/03/2023 16:34

We also have wool pillows/duvet and I’m a fussy fucker. I take my pillow away with me.

Tulipvase · 19/03/2023 16:35

Ah, just seen the wool allergy. Sorry.

Appuskidu · 19/03/2023 16:36

Dunlopillo are the only ones to have, in my opinion! I take mine on (uk) holidays!! They have been rebranded as Relyon, I think but are the same. Pricey but last forever.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/03/2023 16:38

l went to Dunelm and squished all the pillows. That’s how l ended up with the memory foam slab of bread😣it was fine at first. Then sort of morphed into a slab like lump.
