We’ve done 3 Easter holidays in Portugal, mainly the Algarve, in recent years (Covid aside) and each time it’s been warm enough for pool - as long as it’s heated! - and even some beach days. Last year it was too hot at some points 😂 But Easter is earlier this year so it may be a little cooler. Definitely go for a heated pool though.

Unwellhousehold · 14/03/2023 21:41

Murcia is currently having a heatwave, that's probably within 3 hours

Trumpton · 14/03/2023 21:42

Just back from Fuertaventura and the weather was perfect. Warm enough to use pool( heated) the other pool was very cold. Long beach paddling walks. Cover up needed for evenings sun hat for day time.

This is chat.

So I doubt there is an AIBU 🤷‍♀️

Someone obviously spends too much time on AIBU 🤣

MeinKraft · 14/03/2023 21:45

This is when travel agents come in useful

Zuffe · 14/03/2023 21:47

Crimea is going to get hot OP.

ForeverTheOptomist · 14/03/2023 21:47

Have a wonderful time!

Feckingfeck · 14/03/2023 21:47

What a nice final response from OP. Must be horrible to be happily excited and reaching out for some help and advice and be met with such hurtful comments.

I mean if you aren't going to say something nice then don't bother.

So glad for you OP, hope you find what you are after and have a great time!

Please come and feedback where you book (not looking for tips just nosy!)

CuriousMama · 14/03/2023 21:51

OP come back and tell us nice ones where you're going?

Climate emergency. Don't fly. When are people going to get this?

Oh do bore off

Yup. Currently I'm half an hour tops inland from Costa Calida. (The warm coast, there's a clue in the name). It was 29 degrees yesterday, and 25 today. Personally I don't need it any hotter than that, but you know what you want
OP.

The weather is currently getting up to speed after a disappointing post Christmas period, which contributed to the lack of tomatoes, salad etc in UK stores.

You can fly into RMU, a really pleasant none stressful airport. 🌴🌞

Schnooze · 14/03/2023 22:03

Yes please tell us where you decide to go.

Ihavethisthingwithcolour · 14/03/2023 22:03

This is making me irate - Easter isn’t a half term! It’s the end of term school break 😵‍💫 You have 3 children some are almost adults?? How can you still not understand school terms? 😰😫

Blossomtoes · 14/03/2023 22:08

Malta. It will be low 20s, the flight’s three hours and everywhere is close to the airport.

WimbyAce · 14/03/2023 22:10

Knitterofcrap · 14/03/2023 20:08

There isn’t an April half term.

Do you mean Easter break? All two weeks of it or if not, which dates?

Agreed, hate it when people call all school holidays half term! Half term is as it says on the tin.

19lottie82 · 14/03/2023 22:31

I take it you don’t have any children then? As this is the absolute worst thing that you can do for the environment? Worse than taking a thousand flights!

Crumpledstilstkin · 14/03/2023 22:34

Have a look at holiday pirates for a few ideas. Some good bargains and cheap enough to just give it a go. Personally I'd also look at Eurostar.

For those looking later it's not too late to get one of the amex gold cards (look up how to get the free miles) and if you put a holiday of £5k+ ish on it you should get about 50,000 miles free which would help with the next holiday.

Gibraltar

Fly with Easyjet, book AirBNB.

You can walk from the airport.

Can be chilly at that time though, I lived there for a few years! Morocco would be a better bet, if all you're after is warmth and beaches you don't need to leave the hotel if the bothering is a worry. I would give all the Med islands a miss so early. We once went to Barcelona in Febriary and it was very warm.

Apologies to OP if I'm wrong but I get the impression from her writing that maybe English isn't her first language; lots of friends who weren't schooled here themselves call every holiday except the long Summer break 'half-term'.

Weird thing to get irate about.

Right I have to say a huge thank you to you all for your amazing help and kindness in sharing your holiday hot spots…. So not to waste anyone’s time I will go and have a look and book tonight so please don’t answer further for me!…. But obviously many people may benefit from this post so feel free to carry on, just wanting to make clear that I am really grateful and personally no longer need recommendations! Happy holidays…. Saved our butts off for this !…. So off to find a recommended bargain ….. in a world where you can be anything, choose nice, many thanks to those of you that have been ….I know I would do the same , Because let’s be honest , if we can’t help each other out from time to time and share our knowledge/ information on experience … what a sad place it would be xx 😊

What a brilliant reply. I know OP doesn't need any more suggestions, but I'd love to go to Seville. Apparently it was 27 degrees last week. Or perhaps Madeira - temperature is almost the same all year round apparently.....

In reality, makes way to kitchen to do washing up.

Have a fantastic holiday HopingofHoliday. Would love to know where you chose in the end.

Mylittlepea · 14/03/2023 23:03

Everyone needs to chill out a bit, bit sad to get irate about a post in the wrong place, or wrongly describing the Easter ‘half term’

scroll on by if you can’t cope with the stress.

I love a holiday, and it’s exciting shopping for one.

OP, try joining a couple of FB groups like this: www.facebook.com/groups/153207178160816/permalink/2535459456602231/

look at ‘late deals’ on Tui, holiday pirates, easyjet holidays.
most pools are cold within a 3 hour flight but some have an indoor pool. Stayed here once over NYE and it was 22 degrees, lovely sun and kids had fun in the indoor pool…lots of cheap restaurants nearby. Beach 15 mins walk www.vilapetra.com/en/

look at Ryanair/easyjet destinations from your nearest airport, book flights then see what booking.com or Airbnb has.

one Easter hols we did 4 nights in Marseilles for £140 easyjet flights, £400 - 3 bedroomed apartment. Spent about £300 on food & taxis/buses. You cannot do Center Parcs in the UK for a family of 4 in the Easter hols for under £1000😁

Ludo19 · 14/03/2023 23:10

Just came on to say, have a lovely holiday OP! Sounds like it's been a long time coming. Great suggestions too, well all the helpful ones 🙃

sammyjoanne · 14/03/2023 23:23

I went to Costa Adeje in tenerife in April. lovely and warm and about half hour from the airport
