Help me spend £70 on teacher’s Easter present

Class Rep here. One of my jobs is to buy the teacher a present from the class kitty on behalf of the parents at the end of each term. I would like to choose something Springlike but I’m cr*p at choosing presents, so would welcome suggestions from Mumsnetters. The budget is £70. It doesn’t have to be just one item, but a maximum of three. Thanks so much ☺️

Easter hamper with vouchers for Holistic therapy session,

she could have a voucher for speacial afternoon tea at healthspa or hotel or a tea room cafes,
Good quality chocolate selection box,

If she likes a tipple of alcohol?
Reasonably good quality wine or other Alchol drink

Or
Adventure Activity pursuit one off thing voucher,
But I am not sure if it be way too expensive,
I suppose depends what it is, but I have a feeling it will be ,

What about membership voucher for national Gardens Trust or something else to with nature,

Or

A entertainment voucher to see any theatre production of her choice,

All these gift 🎁 cards vouchers I am sure your teacher colleague will like

You might want to check that with the school as anything over a certain amount might be classed as outwith rules on gifting etc. We're only allowed to accept 'small gifts' which are up to about £30 value.

OP isn't in the UK and is in a private school.

Not vouchers, cash instead. Vouchers are a pain and usually shops /places you wouldn't choose.

£60 Vouchers for Amazon. Easter Egg.

I'm the class rep. All it means is I turn up to the PFA meetings in the pub, occasionally send a message round to the class WhatsApp group letting them know about any fundraising things going on and organise the collection for presents at Xmas and in July. Which I make very clear is totally voluntary.

No clipboard required or wanted! No busybodying and I'm not sure what nauses is a typo for but I'm pretty sure I'm not that either.

Or, you know, it could be someone perfectly normal and reasonable who’s trying to help out a bit, organise the odd parents meet up, send round a few WhatsApps and organise a collection for the teacher at Christmas and end of year. Generally make things a bit easier for other parents and help things run a bit more smoothly. But if you’re glad you’re school doesn’t have anyone like that, good for you.

Tell me what do you do in your spare time to help people out for no benefit to yourself?

Iloveenidblyton · 12/03/2023 23:01

Maybe a £10 easter egg and the rest on a charity gift to support a worthwhile charity ?

OR someone who collects voluntary contributions for an Xmas gift, shares a weekly reminder post on a class social media page so there's one really easy point of reference for reminders, and ensures that when a new family joins the class, a casual (also voluntary) play at the park is organised, to make sure the family is welcome?

Yeah, class reps are pretty much like Hitler.

Or someone who steps up and does the things that everyone would miss if they didn't happen but is unwilling or unwilling to take on themselves?

BarbaraofSeville · 13/03/2023 05:10

Unwilling or unable that is.

Holliegee · 13/03/2023 05:40

Only on Mumsnet would the answers vary from foodbanks to holistic therapy right down to Hitler with a clipboard.

Murphyturphy · 13/03/2023 06:47

I used to be class rep. We didn’t do anything at Easter. Just Christmas and summer.

love all those foaming at the mouth over £70. A class of 30 each spending £2 isn’t far off that and I’d much rather give a teacher vouchers to spend than watch them leave school with 30 packets of biscuits or candles.

newjobnewstartihope · 14/03/2023 16:49

@BritInAus who mentioned Hitler?
More like Roy Cropper in most cases

Immychops · 14/03/2023 17:01

Wish I got nice presents every term for doing my job!
Maybe I'm just shit at it...
