Friend using my Prime account

Friend keeps sking me to order things for her on my Prime account. This is about 2-3 items a month, sometimes more, eg at Christmas. She always pays me straight away, that's not an issue.

I order to her house - or her mums/sisters/sons house if it's a gift. I now have 5 different delivery addresses for her on my account. She messages me to ask me to check the eta on the day of delivery.
I begrudge her using my Prime. It costs me around £95 a year.

AIBU to be annoyed at her using it ?

I feel like her secretary sometimes.

Just tell her that you've cancelled it.

lemonmama · 05/03/2023 09:10

Now and again I wouldn't mind. But I'd be telling her to get her own subscription at this point!! How often do you use it?

SameOldJunk · 05/03/2023 09:10

Just tell her that you've cancelled it.

This.

ShitIdiot · 05/03/2023 09:11

Fuck that. She’s taking the piss.

mum2jakie · 05/03/2023 09:11

Or ask her to pay half of the costs as otherwise you're thinking of cancelling as you don't use it much any more for your own orders?

RedCarsGoFaster · 05/03/2023 09:11

At that rate, no YANBU. I am occasionally asked by friends who need something urgently which I'm more than happy to help with, but she's taking the piss.

wakdoqwu · 05/03/2023 09:11

I guess it depends on how it came about, if you offered you can't really moan about it now. However if she asked to do it once and has then continued to expect it and is now taking the piss then you need to say no.

fajitaaaa · 05/03/2023 09:12

Tell her you've cancelled it - Costa living and all that

Bigmummaof2 · 05/03/2023 09:14

CF🤣 I agree, tell her you’ve cancelled it!

Lochroy · 05/03/2023 09:14

Ideally the truth, 'sorry, I said I'd do it as a one off favour [or whatever started it] but this is taking up way too much of my time. You're using it more than me [LOL, passive aggressive smiley face]. I'm sorry I won't be able to keep doing this anymore.

Otherwise, yes, just tell her you've cancelled it.

carriedout · 05/03/2023 09:17

YANBU, you are not her secretary. I would also say I had cancelled it I think as it is such an easy way to end the issue.

MamOfFive · 05/03/2023 09:18

Just tell her you haven't got it anymore, I had the same issue with a family member using my Netflix & prime I just logged them out and said I've stopped using them.

Codliveroil89 · 05/03/2023 09:20

I never offered the service to her. She asked once and has taken it upon herself to use it as and when now. I watch it a lot for TV, order a few times a month maybe. What if I tell her I've cancelled it and she sees it on the TV at mine ?!

OP posts:
Gunpowder · 05/03/2023 09:23

If she sees it on the tv at yours, I would say it was costing too much so you have taken a leaf out of her book and are piggy backing on a friend/family member’s account.

Codliveroil89 · 05/03/2023 09:23

She also uses my Freeman's account to order clothes occasionally and a store discount card I have. I could lose the discount card if it got found out.

Ask her to contribute to the cost, a bit like how people give petrol money for lifts

CharodNeDu · 05/03/2023 09:24

Tell her you are not her secretary and a one off was fine but now it is too frequent. You could even add that other people have asked you to do it too (even if they haven't) and it is getting too much so no more to everyone.

Don't lie about having Prime, you have paid for it, for you, not everyone else who wants to use it.

monitor1 · 05/03/2023 09:26

FFS, just grow a spine and say no.

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 05/03/2023 09:27

Why do you keep letting her do all this stuff?

Just change the password and say no. You can still have the app even if you don't use it.

Ourlittleharmonica · 05/03/2023 09:28

I was gonna say just let her down gently with the Prime and tell her it's too expensive but honestly your replies have made you sound like an utter mug.

Collect whatever you owe from her and cut her off, JFC.

change the password and say you don't feel comfortable with it anymore. So what if she sees you watching prime, it's YOURS not hers.
She's taking the piss, stop being scared of upsetting her when it's clearly upsetting you.

Sugarfree23 · 05/03/2023 09:28

Can you split the cost with her and link your two Amazon accounts?
So you both benefit from Prime and she can order independently.

Newstartonwards · 05/03/2023 09:28

Say no, share the cost or it isn’t fair

Or just say no to the cheeky woman!
