Vernon Kay taking over from Ken Bruce on R2

I think he’s great when he does Zoe Ball’s show but is he fit to step into the shoes of living legend Ken?

I’ve already switched to Greatest Hits radio. Scott Mills is dire, I can’t listen to him. Would rather have ads.

I can’t cope with the adverts on Greatest Hits though.

I can’t stand listening to Vernon - I’ll be following Ken too. Ken was one of the only ones worth listening to on Radio 2 - very disappointing.

TBF I don’t think people will really accept anyone but Ken.

Vernon Kay is awful. I can't decide who is worse, him or the dreadful Scott Mills.

It's a pity I'm not up early enough to form an opinion on Owain Wyn Evans but I did like him doing the weather.

Vernon Kaye, Scott Mills, Jo Whiley, Sara Cox all of them around since the 1990's and I'm fed uo with them all after 30 years! The BBC needs to get some new presenters and give someone else a chance. What about someone who is witty or funny or who's got something relevant to say instead of the same old mundane chat about driving kids around, big shout outs and what me mam says etc.

I like Vernon kay. Suspect most people won't tolerate anyone taking over from Ken but could have been a lot worse than Vernon.

Agree about Scott mills being awful but the so was Steve Wright in my view so at least that slot is an hour shorter now...

They should of put Gary Davis in there for a month or so.

I will miss Ken but not enough to listen to constant adverts. I like Vernon Kay so happy to give him a chance . They are big shoes to fill !

I agree Gary Davies might've been better in Ken's slot.
Music wise I prefer Radio 2 to Greatest Hits as I do like to hear a bit of newer stuff but I'm hardly listening now as the presenters are getting worse. I agree it's all just 'shout outs' & what listeners are doing when I just don't care 99% of the time.
I like Zoe Ball but can only listen for 15 minutes or so as she's so "we all love everything" with no opinions.
Scott Mills is a major disappointment & I never listen now. Sarah Cox is the same every day & giving her an extra hour was a mistake.
I'm listening to different stations throughout the day now, thank goodness for Alexa.

I'm coming with you Ken. Losing both Simon Mayo and Ken Bruce from Radio 2 is a disaster - does anyone in charge there have the first clue about what the audience wants?

I’m sad to say neither Zoe nor Sara quite cut the mustard for me, very bland. When I think of what Simon Mayo used to do on drive time with his book reviews, intelligent guest interviews, funny confessions, banter with his team… now we have Sara playing donkey noises and crap quizzes and a half hour disco slot.
