Yes, because Zelenskyy can plan it like anything but unless Xi plans it too it won't do any good.

Yeah that just sounds like he's saying he intends on meeting with Xi, not that any meeting has been agreed. Would be good if one would be though.

Apologies if this has been posted and I missed it but I found such a simple level of honesty very moving.

Also saw that the Russian representative at the Security Council interrupted the minute silence 🀬

24th February 2022 goes on the list of days that change life in one way or another. 23rd March 2020 was the one prior to that when I would have been in Spain, but wasn't because I had recently had coronavirus (early adopter for sure) and was not really back on my feet. England lockdown announced. I wasn't going anywhere.

Then a year ago having recently planned a summer trip to Ukraine I found that Putin was staging a regime decapitation in Kyiv, which wasn't. It instead became an invasion dash and after that a traffic jam. And then through various twists and turns, here we are.

I have kept in touch with relatives and passed on some things here to try to give some perspective. Many things I haven't because they are mundane, private or too awful. In late February 2022 I hadn't imagined that those far from the fighting would live with the threat of terror attacks from the skies.

Here's to hoping for a just end to the terror and the fighting in 2023. Who knows though?

Key Takeaways

The Kremlin did not comment on the first anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, likely because Russia has failed to achieve any of its stated objectives and has not made significant territorial gains since July 2022.

A Russian source capitalized on China's release of a 12-point peace plan to inaccurately portray China as supporting Russia's war in Ukraine.

US intelligence reportedly continues to assess that China is seriously considering sending lethal aid to Russia amid continued pressure from Western sanctions regimes on Russia's defense industrial base.

Western governments made a variety of statements on the provision of military aid to Ukraine on February 24.

The Kremlin escalated its information condition-setting for a possible false-flag operation in occupied Transnistria, Moldova.

Russian forces continued to conduct ground attacks northwest of Svatove and near Kreminna.

Russian sources confirmed that Russian forces have split certain Airborne (VDV) force formations across at least two axes of advance.

Russian forces made marginal territorial gains around Bakhmut and continued to conduct ground attacks across the Donetsk Oblast front line.

Ukrainian officials suggested that Russian forces may feel insecure in east (left) bank Kherson Oblast.

Russian authorities continue measures to expand the capacity of Russian peacekeepers.

Russian sources likely attempted to shift the blame for scandals associated with Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) commanders to the conventional Russian military.

Ukrainian partisans likely blew up a railway segment near Poshtove, Crimea.

Johnson to run for NATO Secretary General

WTAF!?! Jesus. Has no one, I mean no one, told him that he is absolutely shit at running anything because the deluded narcissist clearly has not one tiny shred of insight into his incompetencies. Put him in charge of NATO and for sure we’d end up with WWIII.

Live: Ukraine Telegram

Ukraine has already identified more than 16,000 children who were deported to Russia. In 2022, the occupiers sent at least 400 of them to Russian families.
There are also cases when Russians changed the personal data of children, for example, when they took them to so-called re-education camps to avoid obtaining parental consent.

⚑️Ukraine will widen the lane along the border with Belarus and Russia to two kilometers. The entire strip will be mined. The State Border Guard Service said this is provided for by changes in the law that were supported by the Verkhovna Rada yesterday.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ CNN and The Wall Street Journal report that China is still negotiating with Russia to supply it with drones and ammunition. Negotiations are currently underway on the price and volume of supplies. Beijing has not yet made a final decision, but evidence suggests that the Chinese side is leaning toward it
The day before, Der Spiegel wrote that Russia is negotiating with China to supply lethal weapons and a batch of one hundred ZT-180 kamikaze drones, which can carry a warhead weighing 35 to 50 kg. These drones are similar to Iran's Shahed-136. A representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied this and claimed that China does not sell weapons to countries at war.
Today, an official announcement was made on the website of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko that he will be in Beijing from February 28 to March 2. The visit is presented as building a long-term course of friendship and cooperation. Presumably, Lukashenka will promote the issue of providing Russia with weapons.

‼️For the first time in five days, the occupiers have deployed a ship with Kalibrs to the Black Sea, the Ukrainian Navy reports. The carrier is armed with eight cruise missiles.
