I really can’t wait for ours tonight - toad in the hole with double cream mash, broccoli, cauliflower cheese ( just for me) & the most yummy sounding onion & red wine gravy.

Steak, boulangere potatoes, broccoli and cabbage and a bordelaise sauce

We call it dinner, but the kids have school lunches served by the dinner ladies.

Pasta carbonara. DS is away so DH and I can eat all our favs that he doesn't like. Carbonara is a real treat as it has a billion calories 🧀🥓🍝🥚 so may as well wash it down with a few 🍷

I'd say tea too. Up here you have your dinner around midday...hence why they are called dinner ladies at school.

YoBeaches · 19/02/2023 17:43

Curry here too. king Prawn Katsu and bombay potatoes.

topcat2014 · 19/02/2023 17:43

MaydinEssex · 19/02/2023 17:45

We had roast beef, Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, peas, green beans, red cabbage, pork, sage and onion stuffing balls, gravy and horseradish sauce, it was delicious, and best of all, cooked and delivered piping hot from a local restaurant!

LittleFriendSusan · 19/02/2023 17:45

Toad in the hole here too - bulked out with mushrooms, leek & peppers as DS ate half the sausages for breakfast while we were out this morning! We're having with cider-braised cabbage & peas, carrots, mash & onion gravy.

pleasemindyourmanners · 19/02/2023 17:45

www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/pregnant-jools-pasta/ for sausages. Delish and really easy.

storminabuttercup · 19/02/2023 17:52

How come there's always a few people bring up the use of tea? I don't buy that any adult living in the U.K. hasn't heard the turn of phrase, unless they've just been dropped here from out of space.

Anyway for my tea I'm having Chinese takeaway

Campolini · 19/02/2023 17:54

But what about the packed lunch?

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 19/02/2023 17:56

No tea here, but dinner is cheesy tagliatelle.

ifonly4 · 19/02/2023 17:57

I work Sundays, DH is lovely and cooks. Only problem is it's usually something with rice. Today I fancied a change, so it's roast potatoes (have had moaning about peeling them and they won't be as browned as I like, but have to be grateful) - he's got chicken, I've got fish. No idea what veggies will arrive - will be carrot, sugarsnap peas, broccoli or cauliflower. Oh, and the cats have got chicken juices and chicken for a treat over next few days😊

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 19/02/2023 17:59

Lazy dinner here as we've been out at training all morning, then went swimming this afternoon so we are all fooked! (DD10 & DH fell asleep on the sofa haha)

So, the kids asked for pasta with grated cheese and so that's what they got. Simples!

I have some stuffed pasta which I'll probably eat later, DH has eaten the left overs from his Chinese.

GoodbyeMrChips · 19/02/2023 18:01

We’re having chicken pie.

We tend to say supper, but we have it early , around 6. As a child, we had afternoon tea at 4pm - tray of tea or milk, plus homemade bread and honey (cake on Sundays) and then a cooked supper at 7 ish. My dad was posh though! We’re not!
