What are your teenage DS wearing?

DS has his 14 birthday soon & needs some new clothes following a growth spurt. He tells me he wants ‘plain’ things 🤷‍♀️
He is also very slim so lots of things for his age seem too big at the moment.

What do your teen boys like to wear & where do they shop?

My son is very particular that he has nothing with huge labels on so his Nike T-shirts just gave the tick on the left hand side. So label T-shirts with small labels!

MintJulia · 18/02/2023 23:19

Skinny fit black or blue jeans from Tesco. ASICS trainers

Last time he grew, I bought him six assorted t-shirts from H&M, plus a plain grey cotton hoodie. He has two navy hoodies with small logos, and two heavier 'stable fleeces' from Rydale.

And a ski jacket.

DillDanding · 18/02/2023 23:20

Cargo pants which are very trendy at the mo.

Any overpriced sweatshirt from Urban Outfitters.

DS1. Jeans. Or his black cargo trousers with zip off legs. Plain t-shirts, pride t-shirts, film/band t-shirts. Hoodie.

DS2. Skinny Jeans. Chinos with rainbow fabric in the roll up legs. Dungarees. Plain t-shirts. T-shirts with his favourite characters on. He said he'd love to dress like Harry Styles but isn't brave enough.

They aren't fussed by brands.

I suspect they are very much not typical teens.

MrsHGWells · 18/02/2023 23:24

Asics for shoes, t-shirts - Primark for simple cotton a huge jeans fan so we have a range of Abercrombie &Fitch- lovely simple joggers - & hoodies super comfy

HedwigIsMyDemon · 18/02/2023 23:26

No jeans (14 yrs old) only tracksuit bottoms. Skinny fit. I hate them but it’s all he’ll wear 😄

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 18/02/2023 23:32

SikSilk here, great quality and their sales are great

IncyWincyGrownUp · 18/02/2023 23:34

15 year old wears joggers from Primark, whatever tee shirt he can find regardless of who it belongs to, one of his many (hand knitted or charity shop rescue) woolly jumpers, and a pair of walking shoes. Or an oodie and a pair of pants. There is no in-between.

Hellocatshome · 18/02/2023 23:36

Monterain and Montirex are in at the moment for DS and his friends and for once seem designed for tall skinny people so he actually have trousers that cover his ankles for once.

Thank you everyone, will have a Google!

Ds 13. Skinny fit tracksuit bottoms in different colours. A million plain as possible Nike or Adidas tshirts. He's also quite into plain white t shirts which is good as multi packs of those are cheap by comparison. His football team kit t-shirt. Plain black nike with a solid gold tick. He has a Nike tech fleece and about 3 plain nike hoodies. He's not massively into fashion but even his friends who are are essentially in the same things just maybe more "fashionable" trainers.

pastaandpesto · 19/02/2023 07:17

DS15 actively dislikes labels as do his friends and wouldn't be seen dead in anything with a logo. H&M is his go to for cargos, tshirts, hoodies and the occasional flannel shirt. DS is massive now and wears men's L and XL but H&M teens range goes up to a 14+ size which is good for skinny teens.

LiverBurd · 19/02/2023 07:19

Nike
Black, grey, white - neutral colours
No big logos - just the little tick somewhere!
Narrow fit tracksuit bottoms, T-shirt and hoodie
Trainers- Dunks or Jordans

Believeitornot · 19/02/2023 07:19

Fruit of the loom/H&M hoodies and plain joggers.
Plain cotton t shirts from H&M/sports direct

autumnboys · 19/02/2023 07:26

Primark:Tesco jeans in blue/black, skinny fit.

Mostly plain T-shirts. Handed down Hollister hoodies/band hoodies. He got some north face fleeces last year, but I notice they mostly get used for cadets and riding.

Not that bothered about labels, unlike his big brothers.

Okunevo · 19/02/2023 07:28

Hiking trousers and plain rapunai t-shirts. Merino jumper or cotton hoodie or coat.

MeinKraft · 19/02/2023 07:34

Saw a group of teenagers in the cinema the other day and they literally all had black north face gilets on Grin

Noras · 19/02/2023 07:42

DS wears some discreet labelled clothes ( small labels) but more the surf labels such as vans, thrashers, rip n dip ( with the cat logo) etc. I get his clothes from surf shops and Urban Outfitters. His jeans are straight forward Levi’s or diesel. He also has chinos/ cargo trousers. Recently we have got him some in the sale Tommy T shirts. Some Summer clothes come from Zara for light weight shirts. He’s disabled but a very handsome fit lad. He goes to the gym at least 3 times per week with us, For me, it’s important that he looks suitably ‘trendy’. My daughter chooses many of his clothes as she has a good eye, a successful, carefully curated, depop shop and a decent following. She gets him thing like corduroy shirts or denim thick jacket shirts. For older students everything vintage/ second hand is the tend currently. There are lots of vintage web sites. Older students tend to set the trend for younger teenagers.

MaireadMcSweeney · 19/02/2023 07:44

All sports wear. Nike tech fleece tracksuits (£££). Mercier (££)
plain Nike t shirts. He has cheaper things too obviously but those are his preferred choices so if I was buying for a birthday I'd push the boat out.

itsgettingweird · 19/02/2023 07:48

18yo.

Still wearing what he did at that age.

Skinny fit straight leg joggers from next. Plain cotton t- shirt and hoody. Plus the same style shirts in summer.

He doesn't like labelled clothes!

He also wears the Chino trousers and shorts from Tesco and has a few polo t shirts which he tends to wear to work although he can wear a tracksuit if he wants - especially if there's no meetings!

typopro · 19/02/2023 07:55

Amused by all the "variations"
Surely teenage boys wear a uniform of Nike tracksuit, North Face jackets and Jordan's ?

You couldn't pay DS15 to wear Nike/Noethface or have a fade cut!

Thinking about it, he does have a few band tshirts (he has great taste in music). I could see him getting in to vintage clothes but he's also pretty lazy and I'm not sure he'd invest the effort in scouring depop etc.

piedbeauty · 19/02/2023 08:01

Jack Jones is popular here. And New Look do a nice range of plain polo shirts for men/teens, various fits.
Next plain joggers and boxers. Champion sweatshirts/hoodies.

Hoppinggreen · 19/02/2023 08:02

Uniqlo trackies and anime tshirts
Hollister trousers that look like trackies but in chino material, Abercrombie hoodies

hidingbehindascreen · 19/02/2023 08:02

Plain trackers (blue or black) T-shirts and about 100 different hoodies!
Youngest (14) has asked for some cargo pants now as well .
