What are you having?

I'm going old school with a prawn cocktail, lamb, veg and smashed potatoes and I need to decide on a healthy dessert. I'm thinking of baked bananas and honey instead of cake and ice cream.

I'm doing a roast! With pie!

No, no extra effort here. I wonder how many men's forums have threads about what special meal they're cooking tonight?

Who cares.

I'm cracking out my poundshop heartshaped plates and am going to enjoy my nicer than usual dinner and all the miseries on here can suck on their lemons insead😊

Tesco finest meal for 2. Heated up by him. Instructions to tell him when I am leaving my house so it’s ready for when I get to his.

He doesn’t cook at all, so this is a treat.

After reading all the effort others are going to I feel worse.

Don't feel bad! Whatever you are having for dinner you are having it together, you weren't critically injured in that crash, thats what matters, it doesn't matter if you have cabbage water or steak, you are both still here to eat it!

Bit of a mixture since also feeding a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Steak, baked camembert, broccoli, mini roast potatoes, sprouts with bacon, mash and sweetcorn for the babies, diane sauce, nice bread and chocolate cake to follow.

We don't go mad. So prepared garlic butter mussels with part baked rolls. Roast duck with roast potatoes, roast apple and greens and bought profiteroles. And fizz.

Just a usual mid week dinner - chicken and noodles. I am trying to lose weight.

We had Turkish kebabs at our lovely local pub (teens chose not to come) so we're not hugely hungry but the boys will be so I'm making some vegetarian curry dishes tonight.

Pork chops which are marinading, jerusalem artichokes and salad. The jerusalems will make us horribly flatulent but we’ve been together for decades and won’t care!

Pre ordered Indian takeaway for a surprise !

SquigglePigs · 14/02/2023 18:05

I'd planned to but a migraine has put paid to any cooking plans so we've just ordered an emergency curry! At least I just about feel up to eating it which is more than I'd expected this morning.

Homemade burgers - one of dh's favourites - chips and Valentine cakes. We went for an amazing Valentines meal last week as we don't like going out on the actual night as it's too busy.

I fully agree with this (and other posters who said the same) we found going out to a restaurant on Valentine's Day to be overpriced and crowded generally. Our first Valentine's after we were married we went to a "Mexican" restaurant in our tiny northern locale and the tables on either side were so close we were all touching elbows!!

Pulling out all the stops.

We've ordered all the nibbles (starters!) from our favourite Indian restaurant and are just drinking wine and waiting for it to arrive.
