last night we cleaned him out and my daughter didn’t close the lid and he must of escaped over night, we’ve checked everywhere no doors were left open. I’ve literally searched every room cupboard? Any tips

Ours once got out and ended up in the soil stack in the 3rd floor bathroom. We had to coax the little sod out with strawberries before she fell down the entire stack.

In all fairness they are pretty hardy and you'd be surprised where they can squeeze as per previous posters.

I really hope little guy turns up.

I’ve only had him since September he liked broccoli and yogurt treats

LikeD. 😂 Stop it. It's only been 2 days. Honestly, they survive for ages. Get his favourite smelly food out and stick that everywhere. He has to be somewhere. My vote is under the floorboards honestly. But he could be anywhere.

have you got a spy bot? Stick that on and see if it picks him up

VerbenaGirl · 23/01/2023 19:19

We had one missing for two weeks once and it then turned up in the kitchen late one night. They can squeeze into incredibly small spaces and climb really well. You could leave out some bits of food and see if/where it is taken.

Aaaah just checking in to see if there's been any news, so invested in your hamster!

Maybe don't leave bits of food out and just leave his cage and food in there in the hope he will follow the smell back home x

So sorry to hear he's not yet turned up but don't lose hope. Not a hamster but I lost aa snake 3 months ago and she turned up yesterday. Hungry and dirty but otherwise fine. If she can return I'm sure your hamster will too.

Another checking in to see if he’s home? We got quite attached to our various DCs hamsters over the years, last one having died only a few weeks ago and wasn’t very old. Miss him so really feel for you on your missing one.

Elisheva · 24/01/2023 07:39

Did you try setting a box/bucket trap?

Bowbellsx · 24/01/2023 08:49

Morning ladies , no he’s not home yet and he’s I’ve tried 😞

Don't give up, just leave the cage down somewhere quiet and check it every so often. I have heard of hamsters turning up ages after. Keep your chin up

Every time I see a new message notification I’m hoping and praying that he’s come out of hiding! Like a previous poster said, I’m really invested in your hamster because I know how much our pets mean to animal lovers. Hope your daughter is feeling better too.

Deathraystare · 28/01/2023 19:38

For goodness sake Hamster, you are being very naughty! Come home!!

Bowbellsx · 29/01/2023 11:00

He’s not come back 😢

Not sure if this has been suggested already but when my childhood hamster went missing for days he was inside the sofa. He’d chewed through the underneath part and made a nest in the stuffing.
