If your partner snores/ snored have you found any amazing cures for it?

Not sure why but I seem to be more sensitive. Unless he's a lot louder. But either way his snoring is keeping me awake and I'm having to sleep in another room. So has anyone found a decent solution please?

Foam earplugs changed my life.

I got a new partner who sleeps quietly. It's great.

After surgery for nasal polyps and realigning the septum, no more snoring.

Can I borrow your new partner at bed-time please?

Not to cure the snoring no but I use silicon earplugs (divided into two as they're quite big) plus a sleep headband with built in speakers playing white noise. I look like a mad John McEnroe in the mornings but at least I get some sleep.

Sleep clinic + CPAP machine. We both sleep much, much better

Liz1tummypain · 18/01/2023 19:59

@Hollyhocksauce did you know it was a major medical thing? presumably not everyone who snores has this condition. Did your partner know it needed a real medical procedure?

I was the snorer and swear by my CPAP machine

Mombingo · 18/01/2023 20:01

Yes! A mouth guard (mandibular advancement device). It's honestly been life changing.

Skeldale · 18/01/2023 20:01

The breath right strips on DH nose hugely helped.

No, but we've got a spare room if things get really bad for you!

LitralViolins · 18/01/2023 20:02

I'm the snorer. Nasal strips, mouth taping and antihistamines before bed do the trick. It's not sexy but it works. DH bought some earplugs but has never had to use them!

(Actually he snores a bit too but I'm worse 🤐)

Effortlesslyaverage · 18/01/2023 20:02

I poke him and he rolls over and stops snoring.

I'll be packing my jim-jams and dressing gown soon :)

Sleep clinic and CPAP for DH who is an absolutely terrible snorer - who as it turned out stopped breathing hundreds of times an hour.

Wagsandclaws · 18/01/2023 20:09

C - pap machine. He snored terribly and I made him
Record it and take it to his gp who then referred him to the sleep clinic.

It's life changing and we are ( mostly) in the same bed again Smile

This was it for my DP.

No personal story but on another thread I posted a link to a tennis ball put in the garment of a snorer so that they find it uncomfortable to sleep on their back and have to sleep on their side which reduces snoring considerably.

Ladyinpuce · 18/01/2023 20:12

Separate beds and separate bedrooms - bliss 🙂

Pin cushion is better.

feellikeanalien · 18/01/2023 20:14

I am the snorer. The doctor told me to lose weight and I have and according to DD my snoring has got so much better.

He also told me to take up a wind instrument! I haven't actually done that because I quite like my neighbours.😀

Cuppaand2biscuits · 18/01/2023 20:14

Ear plugs, Boots mouldable wax ear plugs. Less than £3 a box.
Warm up one then rip it in half. Make each half into a mushroom shape and push into your ear.
The key is to form a vacuum that stops the noise rather than to plug your ear as such.
Keep rolling them round your fingers until they are soft and pliable.
