On my own, nursing a glass of wine while I wait for the kids to finish an activity.

It's bloody lovely, time for me to scroll mn and not think about anything else and £2.99 for a glass of wine. I had to double check he had the right price at the bar.

Lots of people on their own too.

Enjoy!

I quite like a Spoons. Table service using the app and a tenner for a burger and a drink. What’s not to like?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 14/01/2023 16:24

If I'm eating alone I always choose Wetherspoons. Trash mags and the app, I don't have to move. Plenty of people watching too. 😂

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 14/01/2023 16:25

My local spoons does a bottle of red for £9.45 !

nc8975 · 14/01/2023 16:26

Give us your table number and we'll send you a side of peas 😂

MaverickGooseGoose · 14/01/2023 16:29

I have to leave now, I'd like to stay for the evening!

I live opposite a spoons and it’s second living room. Love it!

NeedWineNow · 14/01/2023 16:57

Love a Spoons. DH and me went in the one in our local town last week - a pint and a little bottle of Prosecco (1.5 glasses) was less than £5.50 from DH’s recollection. We’re going in on Monday to do some banking for my mum and DH has already decided we’ll have lunch in there 😁🍺🍷

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 14/01/2023 17:00

I was in a spoons last Friday night, £3.98 for a Gordon’s and tonic and a pint of cider!!

And it was clean, nicely decorated and warm!

If only the toilets weren’t up 4 flights of stairs

I am part of a ladies friendship group, and every other weds we go there for coffee, lunch and sometimes tea! ☺️ unlimited coffee for £1.35 - 99p for the rest of Jan I think, and many food/drink offers!! We love it!

sittingonacornflake · 14/01/2023 17:05

Love a spoons. Total bargain and the app makes it so easy with little children in tow.

bumblefeline · 14/01/2023 17:18

Been to Spoons today for lunch. I'm a saddo and like trying all the ones in my area. Been in a lovely little one today. Our local one is excellent for people watching.

sanityisamyth · 14/01/2023 17:18

I love Spoons. It's my study room during the day. Cheap breakfast which lasts me all day, free heating and Wi-Fi and lovely staff! Couldn't fault it.

LadyWiddiothethird · 14/01/2023 17:22

Love spoons in Victoria Station, great place to meet up,last time I thought I had only been charged for 1 coffee, but no it was for 2! Also love the one in Uttoxeter.

purser25 · 14/01/2023 17:22

Fish and chips and a glass,of wine for about £9. I like their curry’s think it is the dishes they put them in though!

DuploMum · 14/01/2023 17:23

I love Spoons 😅 quick, easy, cheap. I want to go now 😂

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 14/01/2023 17:24

We are big spoons fans. Next time you need to get some of the chicken bites that come with the sticky soy dip because the dip is incredible.

Mammyloveswine · 14/01/2023 17:24

Cant bean a spoons

multivac · 14/01/2023 17:25

It's just a shame the owner is such a thorough cunt 😢.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 14/01/2023 17:26

I live quite near Henley so often go shopping and then have lunch in spoons. So much better than the posh cafes and restaurants.
especially if it’s a nice day and you can sit outside in the courtyard.

This. I wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire. And much as I liked the cheap booze and food, I can't give that wanker money.

I'm envious! No Wetherspoons anywhere near me, alas.

ThePoshUns · 14/01/2023 17:30

I like a Spoons. Good value and the food is always reliable. Another vote for their curries.

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 14/01/2023 17:30

I do love a 'Spoons. You know exactly what you're getting, it's not fancy but it does the job. Bit like Premier Inn. Whenever we go out for the day somewhere and will need to get food out, I always look up the nearest Spoons.

FettleOfKish · 14/01/2023 17:34

Ignoring as much as possible the intensely questionable human that runs them, I do enjoy a Spoons.

A PP is right about the toilets though. I developed a theory last time I was in Leeds that there's just one big set of Spoons toilets deep under every city, that all the individual Spoons have corridors feeding into. Enter the toilets from Stick & Twist but take the wrong door out and you could resurface at Becketts Bank.
