................... what would it be?

That any driver who has been banned from driving is made to wear a tag (that if they got in the drivers seat to break the law again) would not allow the car engine to start.

When the grass needs cutting that it would automatically mow itself.

Something that detects illness (thinking cancer rather flu or a sniffle) that's like a walk through scanner. You can go, say, once every 3 months, and get a report. Serious illnesses could be picked up and treated early.

Self loading and emptying dishwasher and bins that take themselves out.

daemonologie · 10/01/2023 17:37

A toaster that evaporates the excess crumbs after each use

TrentCrimm · 10/01/2023 17:38

I want a robot vac for stairs.

LizBuin · 10/01/2023 17:42

A food pill, so I didn't have to think about meals or do any kind of food shopping, prep, and cooking. Just take the pill, would also mean never gaining unwanted weight.

WinterFoxes · 10/01/2023 17:43

Ey drops that set like a soft gel over the eye ball instantly giving it 20/20 vision. Dreamed of this since my myopic astigmatic teens. Soft toric lenses are the nearest thing but dry my eyes.

Teleporter

bobbytorq · 10/01/2023 17:46

If it's purely for monetary gain, a device to enlarge penises as literally 50% of the population would buy it.

Wherehaveyouhiddenthebiscuits · 10/01/2023 18:03

Something to tie around baby's ankles when changing her nappy so her tights wouldn't come off.

Elsanore · 10/01/2023 19:49

Very dull but a printer and photocopier that always does what you want, first time.

jlpartnerrs · 10/01/2023 19:50

A scrubber that took methane and CO2 out of the atmosphere

XenoBitch · 10/01/2023 19:51

An instant teleporter. Like they have in Star Trek. You just get "beamed" to a different place.

Kanaloa · 10/01/2023 19:52

I’ve invented loads of stuff but it’s all already in existence.

One I thought of recently was an ice cream scoop that heats up slightly, so you and easily scoop the ice cream if it’s a bit too hard/frozen.

Oh me too!

Lifesyoungdream · 10/01/2023 19:55

A machine that gets rid of chewing gum from pavements.

HarryArry · 10/01/2023 19:57

A pill that cures dementia and cancer come to think of it.

UhhhhhhhOK · 10/01/2023 19:57

A black hole to suck up insufferable people and shove them in a naughty corner for a while so they can stfu

A machine that gets rid of chewing gum from pavements.

Our local council already has one.

ThatshallotBaby · 10/01/2023 20:01

Can I say reliable Time Machine?

BeyondMyWits · 10/01/2023 20:01

Another vote for a personal teleporter.... but then I think again and it would destroy the wilderness, the untouched places of the planet.

This would be great. I have a tub of home made ice cream in my freezer that is rock hard. Is so tasty, so I don't want to waste it.

Had one of those in the late 70s early 80s. It was crap. Basically a normal ice cream scoop with batteries in the handle, push a switch to make a circuit and the spoon heated up. Batteries always flat when you wanted to use it or didn’t last long enough eg serving ice cream at a kids party. Far easier to dip a metal spoon into a mug of hot water and then scoop the ice cream.

poorbuthappy · 10/01/2023 20:09

A contraption which fits around a Henry hoover which means it bounces off / goes around anything it hits on a corner rather than getting stuck. In my mind it's made of the same thing as a weighted hula hoop thingy which spins around and means Henry doesn't get stuck

Kanaloa · 10/01/2023 20:10

@XenoBitch

They already exist 😂 another one of my inventions that are already invented! I’ve never had one though and the poster above says they’re not up to much, so possibly not. Have you considered taking the whole tub out of the freezer then eating it when it’s melted a bit? Of course, you’ll then need to finish off the whole tub so it doesn’t refreeze, but that’s not usually a big issue for me.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 10/01/2023 20:17

@poorbuthappy can this thing also ensure that the Henry hoover actually stays on its wheels as well when in use. Seems to be our works Henry’s always on its side like it’s asleep on the job.
