It's old news, so why're they posting it now?

OP posts:

I've no idea but its not my business so I'd leave it at that!

frenchnoodle · 10/01/2023 06:34

Slow news day?

CheshireSplat · 10/01/2023 06:39

There was a long interview with her at the weekend (Telegraph?). So maybe they found out from there. Still not sure why it's front page news though!

Exdpisatwat · 10/01/2023 06:45

"A tornado of love"

snigger

frenchnoodle · 10/01/2023 06:46

Another story has probably been pulled last minute. Probably one about prince harry.

Reminded me of Matt Hancock 'I just fell in love'.

HariKris · 10/01/2023 06:49

It’s not front page of the printed version. It’s appearing on Daily Mail online. An article gains prominence the more clicks there are on it. Despite many claims to the contrary on here, MN posters are avid Daily Mail readers. That’s probably why it appears so high up the online listing.

MisguidedGhosts · 10/01/2023 06:50

Are there any new settlement figures?

Although, I don't know who she is!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/01/2023 06:52

You're on her website. HTH.

Coffeecreme · 10/01/2023 06:53

oh i just went to see but if it is online version not paper version - i guess becauses this is online.
really shouldnt be headline news regardless.
wheover she is, people are entitled to divorce!

Are you Justine Roberts? If not, was there any need to do that snarkily? Confused

The article indicates an interview with the Telegraph, which was then published.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/01/2023 07:01

No, I'm not Justine. If you found that snarky, good luck with AIBU. I found it odd you would comment on a gossip story without any idea who the celebrity was.

confusedcentral5 · 10/01/2023 07:04

Probably because she rightfully called out the craziness regarding some of the H&M threads/posts which then makes her DM public enemy number 2 😆

Yep

MrsJBaptiste · 10/01/2023 07:11

Because a hell of a lot of people read the Daily Mail and so need the content.

And why call it the Daily Fail? 🙄

It's the one of only ones that is free apart from the sun and mirror, all the rest you get the crap about subscribing.

MayThe4th · 10/01/2023 07:21

Well, she makes a lot of her living from the daily mail in the name of the mn threads she sells to them so obviously she’s fair game.

I have no idea wha it’s about but it’s highly possible she had a hand in it being there.

mids2019 · 10/01/2023 07:25

I feel if a man of similar age had described being hit by a 'tornado of love' and left his wife and children a few people on this website may have been quite opiniated!

Is there ever a relationship breakup that goes so well; the relationship pages on number certainly don't suggest it. Is this a case of a wealthy high profile ensuring the PR of her separation is as good as possible omitting any sensitive subjects such as infidelity?

the interview to my mind certainly shows that for the wealthy divorce maybe a less harrowing or grammatically devastating experience than for other more modest incomes. The idea of divorce as some sort of post menopausal liberation doesn't sit easily with me - it's as if marriage is one long hard slog with children with the 'reward' at the end of getting out.

Yep.
I've certainly become her biggest fan again in the last couple of days.

Rofling at the gullibility of posters thinking Justine sits on the phone begging the Mail to buy the invented bilge they lift from here. They're the ones who start the threads you all sit weeing on your keyboard and throwing tea on your children about while begging for updates.

I agree. Don't call it the Daily Fail.

Instead call it the more accurate Daily spew of right wing propoganda, written to rile up those susceptible to bigotry in order to keep propping up the rich and powerful.

MayThe4th · 10/01/2023 07:38

If I had been her husband I would have signed up to mn and gone on to the relationships board to get support for the fact my wife was shagging someone else and had spun me the “tornado of love” bollocks to justify it.

Seriously, how self absorbed does someone have to be when they own a website, where many women seek support for their husbands’ infidelity and the aftermath thereof to then essentially brag about their own infidelity in the tackiest way possible in the tabloids.

I would certainly think twice about posting about infidelity on a website where the owner practically endorses cheating on your partner.

But there are relationships built, sometimes over many years, between the media and various high profile people and organisations.

I know someone who works for a lowly organisation in comparison. She is forever name dropping.

MayThe4th · 10/01/2023 07:41

Wonder if she’ll have to sell mn to give her ex his half….
