So why is Justine Robert's divorce front page of the Daily Fail today?

It's old news, so why're they posting it now?

‘Tornado of love’. Why do people use these ridiculous sayings to attempt to justify vile behaviour ? ‘Yes, but it’s special, it was a tornado of love, not like everyone else’s dirty little secret’.

I agree. Don't call it the Daily Fail.

Instead call it the more accurate Daily spew of right wing propoganda, written to rile up those susceptible to bigotry in order to keep propping up the rich and powerful.

This. And it appears to be working a treat.

AnyMucca · 10/01/2023 09:01

Oh, she's the founder of Mumsnet, not the one in Girls Aloud. Well I assume it's because they want to crucify another woman who's done well.

user1634987 · 10/01/2023 09:04

No different to Matt Hancock, just that he was male and got caught

confusedcentral5 · 10/01/2023 07:04

Probably because she rightfully called out the craziness regarding some of the H&M threads/posts which then makes her DM public enemy number 2 😆

I wondered if it was linked to the royal family section disappearing last night?

Justine & her first husband were a high profile media couple. He was a very distinguished journalist and she founded one of the most influential & successful websites of the 2000's, so that's why there is media interest in their divorce.

pigsinoodies · 10/01/2023 09:09

@mids2019
"the interview to my mind certainly shows that for the wealthy divorce maybe a less harrowing or grammatically devastating experience than for other more modest incomes."

There are few things more grammatically devastating than a Daily Mail article discussed on a MN thread.

OhMonDieux · 10/01/2023 08:52

@Inkpotlover Goodness, it's you that needs a coffee.
Bullying you off the thread simply because someone disagrees with you?

Now that IS hyperbole.

FGS if you can't take any comments that you don't like, don't wade in.

I didn't 'wade', I posted my take on the newsworthiness of the story along with plenty of other posters. Yet you waded in on me and still are. Please stop @-ing me, I've no interest in boosting your ego as you try to put people in their place for daring to offer an opinion.

AutumnCrow · 10/01/2023 09:12

I thought the most interesting thing about Justine's original Telegraph interview was the section at the end where she does not rule out going into politics.

Spanglybangles · 10/01/2023 09:18

I prefer to call it The Daily Hate (Mail).

ssd · 10/01/2023 09:20

I wish she would go into politics.

bakalava · 10/01/2023 09:29

"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."
I expect that Prince Harry's honesty about his journey has inspired others to want to do the same.
We can all use a kabbalistic audit.

If I had been her husband I would have signed up to mn and gone on to the relationships board to get support for the fact my wife was shagging someone else and had spun me the “tornado of love” bollocks to justify it.

Seriously, how self absorbed does someone have to be when they own a website, where many women seek support for their husbands’ infidelity and the aftermath thereof to then essentially brag about their own infidelity in the tackiest way possible in the tabloids.

I would certainly think twice about posting about infidelity on a website where the owner practically endorses cheating on your partner.

How do you know there was infidelity?

PAFMO · 10/01/2023 09:40

MayThe4th · 10/01/2023 07:41

Wonder if she’ll have to sell mn to give her ex his half….

As this all happened in 2019 and he is a far more (financially) successful journalist than she is, I doubt it.

SleepyRooster · 10/01/2023 09:43

At a guess - because he is an ex Guardian journalist, ex BBC (or possibly still there, not sure), so the likes of the Fail and Torygraph will want to crow

watcherintherye · 10/01/2023 09:45

itwasboundtohappen · 10/01/2023 08:41

Just here to see how many other numpties turn up to say they have no clue who she is 😆

I know who she is, but why does it make you a ‘numpty’ if you don’t? I’m sure there are lots of people who read the Guardian/Times/Observer without being aware of who owns it. She definitely isn’t a ‘celebrity’ as claimed by a pp upthread!

Rattles1 · 10/01/2023 09:47

You read the Daily Mail :|

alwayscheery · 10/01/2023 09:51

I thought the name sounded familiar but it took me a few minutes to remember who she is, I am not a numpty!

Is there a Justine Roberts in Girls Aloud? Thought it was Nicola.

I don't.

To punish her for being critical of people criticising Harry and Meghan.

Yep

Smashingpumpkinsatchristmas · 10/01/2023 10:27

Definitely Nicola Roberts from girls aloud. Haven’t heard her name in a while

Yes, though so.
