When are you going to stop the Christmas eating?

Just some idle chat.

for the last week I have been eating whatever I want whenever I want. Unlimited pigs in blankets, chocolate, brandy cream spooned straight from the tub, slice upon a slice of Christmas cake. I finished the Baileys, or I’d be on that too.

I can’t remember when I last felt hungry.

Most of the year I’m pretty careful about what I eat. I’m in my early 50s and if I were to binge like this all the time I’d be absolutely fucking massive. As it is I’m generally a pretty healthy size 12. However at Christmas for a week or so I just eat whatever the hell I want, and generally loose the extra weight pretty easily... but right now I’m feeling slightly panicked sense of when will it stop?!

So how about you, are you pigging out too? When will you stop? Do you have a definite cut-off point?

I'm pigging out too, in a similar fashion. Thinking I'll rein it in around the 2nd in preparation for going back to work on the 4th 🤣

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/12/2022 19:55

I’m have a day off it tomorrow as I’m not enjoying it at all anymore. We still have 2 family events but neither need to be excessive. We don’t have much Christmas food in as we went away, but I do have a Christmas cake, still uncut. It’s the alcohol I need to stop, I am sleeping terribly and feeling hideous from drinking every day. Definitely stopping all junk food and drinking on 1st Jan if not before

Babdoc · 27/12/2022 20:02

The only thing you need to lose is the extra “o” in loose!
You lose weight to make your clothes loose.

When the food and beer is all gone!

Blissmiss · 27/12/2022 20:05

Whenever the food runs out or by 2nd January. Then it’s sackcloth and ashes for a month

Samsonsmum · 27/12/2022 20:05

Judging by the amount of food left I think Easter

User57713 · 27/12/2022 20:06

Tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit sick. Then I'll eat and drink loads on Hogmanay and start again on the 1st

Bernadinetta · 27/12/2022 20:07

9th Jan… I’m a teacher who didn’t break up til 23rd Dec so we don’t go back til 9th Jan so it’s party food til then ha ha!

Skyeheather · 27/12/2022 20:07

When the food is gone!

We are having the last of the turkey tonight, the leftover buffet food will be gone tomorrow. Still got plenty of cheese, snacks, chocolates, cake, mince pies etc left but DP and DC are off for another week.

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 20:08

Tomorrow back to normal chocolate if wanted weekends same with cheeselets. Cheese and biscuits as lunch. The buffet bits left once at end of January then non really till next Christmas.

MammaWeasel · 27/12/2022 20:08

Not any time soon judging by the amount of snacks that seem to have appeared!

declutteringmymind · 27/12/2022 20:09

Yesterday. I have so much leftover and so much hamper food and choc to last us months. Still grateful though and it will all get eaten or passed on eventually.

Turkey sandwiches for lunch tomorrow though!

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 20:09

Mince pies weekend I think then that’s them all all gone.

MsChatterbox · 27/12/2022 20:13

Think will start reining it in Jan 2nd. I've got a click and collect for the Friday before full of healthy snacks and lunches in preparation. I'm looking forward to feeling like I'm putting good fuel in my body!

Willowswood · 27/12/2022 20:14

I've stopped today. Got loads of leftovers in the fridge and everywhere but I won't be eating it. I've had a whole day today of eating normally with loads of fresh fruit and veg and starting to feel better already

Todaynotalways · 27/12/2022 20:17

Tomorrow we have an ocado order of healthy food due at 8am, and a meal plan for 1200 - 1500 calories (each) per day for the next week.

That's my losing weight calorie intake. I eat 1800 to maintain. And I must've been nearing 3000 over the Christmas period.

WhatAmIDoingWrong123 · 27/12/2022 20:19

I don’t do it anymore, I just don’t enjoy it!

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 27/12/2022 20:19

January 1st. We're not hosting New Year's Eve this year so we won't have leftover party snacks.

I've just eaten supper, which was a slab of turkey fried in butter and garlic oil in a slightly elderly and dry croissant with reheated gravy poured on it, and a handful of lamb's lettuce as a token vegetable.

DD has recommended adding brandy cream to hot chocolate, so might have that for pudding...

wildthingsinthenight · 27/12/2022 20:19

4th Jan.
My birthday is the 3rd!😁

YouTarzan · 27/12/2022 20:20

1200-1500 is my losing weight limit too.

So glad to hear from everyone else 😀 I’m on my own the week after Christmas Day, and I start to wonder if I’m normal!

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 27/12/2022 20:21

Back to work on the 3rd so then. Am concerned about the massive amount of food we have left again though, really thought I’d done better at getting less this year!

EllaPaella · 27/12/2022 20:21

I'm usually pretty careful with food and I've totally let go over the last week and feel like I've already put on weight but I think it's more the booze which is an issue!
I've just been saying to DH that after tomorrow (another big family gathering) I'm getting back on the healthy wagon!

MintJulia · 27/12/2022 20:21

About another week I should think. I have ham, cheeses, pickles, chicken, chocolates, yule log, stöllen and mince pies left.

I intend to enjoy it 😀
