When are you going to stop the Christmas eating?

Just some idle chat.

for the last week I have been eating whatever I want whenever I want. Unlimited pigs in blankets, chocolate, brandy cream spooned straight from the tub, slice upon a slice of Christmas cake. I finished the Baileys, or I’d be on that too.

I can’t remember when I last felt hungry.

Most of the year I’m pretty careful about what I eat. I’m in my early 50s and if I were to binge like this all the time I’d be absolutely fucking massive. As it is I’m generally a pretty healthy size 12. However at Christmas for a week or so I just eat whatever the hell I want, and generally loose the extra weight pretty easily... but right now I’m feeling slightly panicked sense of when will it stop?!

So how about you, are you pigging out too? When will you stop? Do you have a definite cut-off point?

Only when the Christmas food runs out... I'n on cheese day today. Yum!

toastfiend · 27/12/2022 20:23

Whenever the food is gone, similar to others! Although we had Covid in November, followed by virus after virus, with a really horrible one over Christmas that I'm still suffering with and has massively curtailed my appetite, so not feeling too gluttonous yet.

We have loads of food leftover because of this, so we'll be eating it well into next year!

Judging by the amount of food left I think Easter

Same here! 🙈🤣

Probably not for a week or so! Definitely need to get out of the habit of drinking every day too.

Pelo22 · 27/12/2022 20:38

Now! Back to work tomorrow

lemmein · 27/12/2022 20:43

I have adult DCs so I gave away a lot of the food last night to them 'cos I was feeling really sickly from eating too much over the last few days.....regretting it now I'm peckish 😐

Funnywonder · 27/12/2022 21:26

I've been scarfing down everything that hasn't tried to run away. Have been promising myself that I'll stop every day (apart from Christmas Day) but there's so much luverly food to scoff - not all bought by me I hasten to add. People keep fecking giving me MORE STUFF. I suppose I might just stop when it runs out, so the quicker I eat it, the sooner that'll be. So yeah ... whenever!!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/12/2022 21:28

4th Jan. We have tons of Christmas food left and then will be away for new year. 4th Jan is back to normal day. I am going to try and exercise over the next few days though!

Notplayingball · 27/12/2022 21:32

Constipation has nipped it in the bud for me. Tonight back to my usual routine. Leaving the DC to eat the rest. Fed up with all the treats lying around!

Farawayfromhere · 27/12/2022 21:36

I am probably really miserable but I pig out hugely on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and then have a really healthy day on Boxing Day. And now I’m just eating a few extra bits, but have chucked lots of chocolate away.
I actually don’t like the feeling of the endless eating because it’s too disappointing knowing it has to end. I worry I will never stop!

dudsville · 27/12/2022 21:37

I will continue through the cheese and panettone until they're gone, which will probably be another couple of weeks. Haven't decided yet whether to do dry january, but i don't have the drive for it since I've been sensible for a long while now.

dudsville · 27/12/2022 21:37

Oh, but i did add loads of beans and pulses and veg to the next shop!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/12/2022 21:38

Well, we've nearly finished the cheese, but haven't even started the Christmas pudding yet!

I might freeze some of the biscuits and lebkuchen to stop me just necking them all now.

Haveagentlechristmas · 27/12/2022 21:42

I've toned it down today.
Granola for breakfast, shephards pie for lunch, a piece of cream cake and a crisp sandwich!

Tomorrow a veggie and prawn curry.

Xmasgrinchywinchy · 27/12/2022 21:42

3rd January when I’m doing a month dry and vegetarian.

AkoraEdelherb · 27/12/2022 21:46

I’m back at work tomorrow and it’s a very intense and focused job where I need to peak at 9pm brain-wise, so no too much processed food, sugars, caffeine etc, during the day.

But at dinner I will continue ravaging the Christmas sweets. My mum has filled up half my bag with them for my flight tonight…

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 27/12/2022 21:49

I think I’m pretty much done. Chucked out the last of the pigs in blankets and stuffing balls this evening - they just made me feel nauseous. Cheese has gone in the freezer, along with a couple of boxes of chocolates. I got given a bottle of Baileys and a bottle of Tia Maria and really don’t like either of them. They’re open (to try) so don’t know what to do with them.

I’m craving green vegetables!

SortinMyMH · 27/12/2022 21:50

Well i intend to lose some weight. Normally when i say i will o start the following day not 'oh ill start Monday'
But this time ill start Monday 😂
Purley because ive not really sat or even binged on the xmas treats, 2 poorly dcs and my MH had a wobble. So the rest of this week im going to eat some nice treats then start Monday. Have a take away nye and a big roast on nyd.
. Its not a diet ill do more of just cutting down. ( previous eating disorder so i cant fixate too much)

DelilahBucket · 27/12/2022 21:54

When it's all gone! Picky teas for the rest of the week and then that should be it. Then back to measuring ingredients for a bit while I lose it again. Daren't weigh myself!

Germolenequeen · 27/12/2022 21:55

@AkoraEdelherb intriguing 🤔

Mezmer · 27/12/2022 21:56

I will start my very strict ‘clean eating’ diet and exercise regime when I get back to work on 3rd Jan. I have 330 days in 2023 to get back to normal and lose the three or four lbs I will have put on by then. Tbf I'm quite looking forward to it! I feel a bit sick and bloated but there is still so much to chomp through!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/12/2022 21:59

I've barely begun.
We have just come back from the PiL and the dullest, most joyless 3 or 4 days I have ever spent anywhere, with the most minimal Christmas dinner, and no extras - no chocolates, no crackers, not cheese, nothing

Got home late yesterday to discover we'd had a power cut and have had to throw
away a loaf of food I was looking forward to.

I will be going shopping tomorrow and won't be holding back!!

orangetriangle · 27/12/2022 22:07

After new year my daughter is getting married in 18 months and I am diabetic with high sugar levels so for both reasons need to cut down on sugar and hopefully lose weight

justasking111 · 27/12/2022 22:13

Had a stomach bug Monday to Thursday, so been nervous to eat too much, couldn't afford to be ill again. I had Christmas cake tonight was lush. OH and DS haven't held back. No-one has even looked at the cheese yet

shinynewapple22 · 27/12/2022 22:15

When the food runs out - but I'm not eating in the quantities you seem to be.
