When are you going to stop the Christmas eating?

Just some idle chat.

for the last week I have been eating whatever I want whenever I want. Unlimited pigs in blankets, chocolate, brandy cream spooned straight from the tub, slice upon a slice of Christmas cake. I finished the Baileys, or I’d be on that too.

I can’t remember when I last felt hungry.

Most of the year I’m pretty careful about what I eat. I’m in my early 50s and if I were to binge like this all the time I’d be absolutely fucking massive. As it is I’m generally a pretty healthy size 12. However at Christmas for a week or so I just eat whatever the hell I want, and generally loose the extra weight pretty easily... but right now I’m feeling slightly panicked sense of when will it stop?!

So how about you, are you pigging out too? When will you stop? Do you have a definite cut-off point?

Whenever the food runs out!

Today. I feel bloated, tired and my stomach is hurting constantly. I've majorly overdone it 🙈
Just had a healthy breakfast and off to sainsburys soon to get some healthier food in the fridge

mamaduckbone · 28/12/2022 09:08

@Butteredtoast55 Xmas Grin at trifle coma...I had one of them on Boxing Day.

Just ate my usual porridge and fruit for breakfast rather than chocolate panetonne/bacon sandwich/scrambled egg and smoked salmon like the past few days. That felt good.

When the food is all gone!
It's all cost a fortune so I'm hoping I can get away with minimal food shopping for another week.

The fridge is about 60% cheese still though.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 28/12/2022 09:50

I don't eat anything different than I eat all the other days of the year ( except my Christmas dinner with loads of pigs in blankets) 🤣.
I don't like alcohol or chocolate or cheese and sweet things in general 🤷‍♀️
I sound so boring but honestly I'm not I'm just not into food 🤣

Haveagentlechristmas · 28/12/2022 20:55

Today I had veggie madrass using left over roast potatoes and parsnips as well as some other veg. It worked really well.

Mince pie with ife ream and a couple of chocs. But I haven't gone too mad at all!

Started yesterday!

Chihuahuasrule · 28/12/2022 21:02

Intake beginning to normalise here. The desire for chocolate is waning.

LapinR0se · 28/12/2022 21:03

I’ve been sick all Xmas and haven’t managed to eat or drink to excess at all. So sad!!! It might be the first year ever where I lose weight over the festive season. I am hoping that when I get better I can have a big blow-out meal to at least partly make up for it

ShornTheSheeep · 28/12/2022 21:48

I think I'm done. I honestly feel so so sick now from over indulgence

I have a green smoothie planned for breakfast tomorrow - made with spinach, fresh mint leaves, pear, oats, oat milk, greek yogurt and peanut butter. So that should help me in a step back to normal!

The me last year, would be eating until it had all gone, the me this year stopped on Boxing day, I was diagnosed with diabetes in July and have finally got it into remission by dieting so after the roulade my son gave me at 11pm on Boxing day (and irish coffee) some chocolate covered nuts, a mince pie and a cheeseboard, it has been back to eating 3 meals a day and 1200 calories, I enjoyed every mouthful though :) In the house I have a massive box of Lilly O brian Chocolates (the massive circular one with pudding flavours - apparently no one likes them (I do), We have a box of unopened quality street, roses and celebrations left plus 2 boxes of chocolate covered biscuits and lots of crisps and savoury snacks - I think I may offer them to others as there are only 3 of us living here, I shopped like I did last year, forgetting I cant eat the same :( so if anyone likes Lilly O brian chocolates and would like a box happy to post them to you

Our local hospice has regular events and need raffle prizes. Chocolate etc is stored and given out to folks who are doing community fundraiser work which include raffles. I guess churches might do similar, raffles, bingo nights. Our local royal British legion do weekly bingo. In case folks want to shift unwanted bits and bobs

Jenasaurus · 28/12/2022 22:04

also dont want to undo this!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 28/12/2022 22:06

I was back at work today - where there’s loads of goodies.

I’ll plod through it at home and at work until it’s all gone!

Thats a great idea, I will look into this as it would make an excellent prize

Also got unopened disarano, tia maria etc, none of us drink really (I only have gin and slimline tonic or red wine, everything else messes up my BG levels) my DD and her BF hate alcohol so giving it away would be something good for us too.

Partly - Jan 1st. Completely back to routine and healthy plan for food and back to exercise - Jan 9th when school goes back.

We didn't finish til 23rd, and I had a weird stomach thing for 4 days which meant I had no appetite and lost 3lb.

I've put it back on (almost) with the Christmas food. And I have SOOO many boxes of chocolates from the kids at school. And a heaving full fridge of leftovers and a shit-tonne of cheese.

I'm indulging in the nice food but not overeating in quantity at the moment. Then back to deprivation on a daily basis to lose whatever weight I've put on!

FoxCorner · 28/12/2022 22:12

1st Jan

Cheese is my weakness too, My DS and his DW had an amazing cheese selection that was part of their M&S Hamper, along with parnessan shortbread, which I have never had before, We all perched around his kitchen bar where it was laid out, I said I would have just a cube of gouda and some ham! Well that didnt happen, we all sat nibbling away like Mice on the cheeses. :)

shockedballoon · 28/12/2022 22:23

Pretty much today, but basically due to the fact that I've come down with a horrific stomach flu/head cold thing and just the thought of all the rich food in the fridge has me gipping.
So gutted, I usually love a good pig out this time of year.

Sorry you are feeling poorly, its like being robbed of the enjoyment of food when you lose your appetite with so much lovely stuff around you.

I hope you feel better too, I also have a cold but not lost my appetite yet

1st Jan, but in reality there isn't much left. We've planned a feast for NYE but then we're done!

I've hidden some chocolate for Easter (and potential chocolate emergencies) but we didn't buy much, and we definitely haven't drunk a great deal, but will probably have a couple of bottles of wine on NYE.
