Anyone up? So worried about DD

Currently on hold to 111 but I'm so worried. DD who is 3 has had a temp since Christmas Eve, it's been up and down ranging between 38.6 and 39.7 but it's currently at 40.7 and I can't get it down. She's snotty and complaining of a sore head and is now bringing everything including calpol/nurofen back up, the last lot she brought up was clear with what looks like specks of blood in it.
Has anyone had similar and what was it?
I know there's some horrible bugs going around at the moment so it could just be that but the fact I can't get her temperature down and what looks like blood now in her sick is really worrying me.

Can you feel her tonsils? Mine used to get fevers like that with tonsilitis.

Make sure she's not wearing much, put a fan on in the room but not blowing on her, and use a cold flannel on her forehead.

Hope she's feeling better soon.

Hi, I'm a Dr. Sorry to read this and based on the information you've given please don't wait for 111, you're delaying a clinical review. Take your daughter to A&E, her temperature isn't going to come down if she's not keeping meds down and she requires further assessment.

Mollyplop999 · 26/12/2022 04:54

Agree with last poster she needs to go to a&e

AE , don't panic , drive carefully but she needs some IV paracetamol and fluids

DarkNecessities · 26/12/2022 04:57

Take her to A&E asap x

Namaste6 · 26/12/2022 04:59

I agree with the previous posters. Take her to a&e. Don't hesitate. Take a damp facecloth with you and keep dabbing her face / back of neck etc.

Vaccine001 · 26/12/2022 05:04

Tabitha888 · 26/12/2022 05:06

Sending love op. Best go A&E better to be safe than sorry xx

worriedmama202 · 26/12/2022 05:07

Thanks for all of your advice, just packing a bag then heading to a&e. She's came down to 40.3 in the last hour but it's not enough.

Just to repeat that A&E is best right now. Hope you get to the bottom of things soon.

Hellohellomrt · 26/12/2022 06:30

My son had been spiking high temps the last few days and was diagnosed with tonsillitis.

We took him to a&e Christmas eve evening and were seen and treated in a few hours - hopefully the same for you.

Hope your daughter is doing better :)

ScrabbleRabbler · 26/12/2022 06:35

ememem84 · 26/12/2022 06:46

Sending a handhold from nz. I hope you’re seen quickly at a&e and that dd is on the mend soon xxx

SunnySusan83 · 26/12/2022 06:51

Hi. My daughter had this exact symptom last week, although she's 8. We went to A&E (as you have rightly done, too) after 111 GP advised it (I was going anyway). My main concern was the blood in vomit, but when we got to A&E they weren't too concerned. In our case, they believe it to be stomach irritation from the flu & possibly ibuprofen on an empty stomach trying to get her hellish temps down!!
Hopefully it will be the same for your LO. You are totally right to get checked, I just hope and pray it is quieter and you're not waiting as long as we were (10 hours) x

KangarooKenny · 26/12/2022 06:54

If she’s not keeping anything down you need to go to A&E. Hopefully you’re there by now and being seen. Let us know how you go 🤞🏻

ShirleyPhallus · 26/12/2022 06:55

Good luck op

Itsinyourhand · 26/12/2022 07:01

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/12/2022 07:06

stayathomer · 26/12/2022 07:07
