4yo and 3yo here, both still very asleep by the looks of it. I'm sitting in bed enjoying the peace before the chaos.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Ditto! 6&4 here and I actually think I've woken with excitement myself! Merry Christmas 🎄

toppity · 25/12/2022 06:02

Merry Christmas 🎄 I’m awake and too excited to get back to sleep. Texted my sister who is also up. We are both late thirties. Makes me remember the magical Christmas morning feelings of my childhood. I’m nostalgic at the best of times but Christmas is next level!

AWaferThinMint · 25/12/2022 06:04

Yep. 11 and 8. Though after some sleep issues last night one is in with me and their dad is with the other. Wake up!!!

Yup. 3 year old woke me because he needed a wee and went back to bed. Hence me scrolling Mumsnet Xmas morning 🤣

LooksBetterWithAFaceMask · 25/12/2022 06:06

Merry Christmas
me! Although mine are 19,16 and 12 but I’m
awake and excited. DH always teases me for waking them up so I’m sitting in bed until I hear someone move. I’ve been texting my sister so I’ve not been lonely.
16 year old is an early waker so I’m
hoping he wakes up soon and gets everyone up.

BakedTattie · 25/12/2022 06:12

Yep. 9 & 7. Both asleep snoring

katmarie · 25/12/2022 06:13

Still no movement here. Dh thinks I'm ridiculous, but in a good way. He's dozing still. Sil is in the spare room, I think she must still be asleep. C'mon people!!!

I'm poorly so awake but hoping they stay in bed as long as possible!!

Stressfordays · 25/12/2022 06:16

I've been on and off awake since 4. Tempted to start shuffling around in an attempt to wake the dc!

TheMindfulMum · 25/12/2022 06:16

I have a mover! But he's put his nightlight on and hasn't come through yet. Hoping he might wake his sister with his shuffling around and cough which he's got the tail end of 🤞🏼

FlorrieFosdyke · 25/12/2022 06:17

Yes, I've been awake since 5am. Already had a coffee and about to make another. Waiting for 5 year old and 2 year old to wake Xmas Grin

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2022 06:18

Our DC were terrible for sleeping in on Christmas Day when they were little.
One Christmas it was getting on for midday. 😂

Now they’re in their twenties I’m not expecting to see them much before that they were out late last night. I’m awake because Sparklingcat wants breakfast. Happy Christmas 🎄

Woeman · 25/12/2022 06:18

I'm awake and have had a bad night with cough and cold. We've given ours the time of 7am, but I wouldn't mind going down now!!! I need a cuppa! Happy Christmas!

katmarie · 25/12/2022 06:19

Ooh we have movement. Ds 4yo has emerged, climbed I to our bed and snuggled up to dh. Not sure he's remembered yet that it's Christmas. Dd still sleeping. This is rare.

8&4 here, 4yo is awake just waiting on the eldest.

Daisychainsandglitter · 25/12/2022 06:20

Yes me! I've been awake ages. I'm more excited than the kids I think. This year the kids are 8 and 5 and it's been lovely to see their excitement building for Christmas.
8 year old woke at 5.30 and has opened her stocking. 5 year old still fast asleep. Can't wait to hear her squeal that Santa's been when she wakes up.

MrsBrandonspiano · 25/12/2022 06:20

My twins have never got up before 7am even when tiny. So annoying.

Emelene · 25/12/2022 06:20

I’m waiting for my 2 and 4 year olds to wake up. 😁 I can’t really explain why I’m awake, I was really tired last night but I haven’t slept well because I’m too excited! Christmas still feels magical even as an adult and I can’t wait to see their faces. 🥰🎄

Beanbagtrap · 25/12/2022 06:21

3yp came into our bed at 4, which happens every night. He went straight to sleep, DH however decided to turn on his iPad so woke me up with the light and now we have both been up for ages waiting for the DC before we can go downstairs and get a coffee. I foresee a long day of migraines ahead of us.

LouLou198 · 25/12/2022 06:22

Same here! Every year this happens, usually up at the crack of dawn, but Christmas Day I usually have to wake them!

AHobbyaweek · 25/12/2022 06:25

Yep same here! DS is 1 and been a bit rubbish with sleep the last two weeks but today he is still out. 7 year old DD also sparko.
Tempted to go and chill with a coffee.

LillethCrane · 25/12/2022 06:26

Me too. I woke at 2.30 to the landing light being on so I went to investigate and found ds (8) awake on his tablet. He said he’d been awake since 11.30pm and was too excited to get back to sleep! So I settled him down and now he’s still snoring away.

DP set an alarm for 5.30am to put the meat in the oven and he made me a cup of tea so I’ve been drinking that and scrolling MN whist he’s gone back to sleep. I want people to wake up now, I’m lonely!

reallyhatewinter · 25/12/2022 06:31

I'm so frustrated at the moment! I just want everyone to wake up - I'm laid in bed like an excited 5 year old and everyone is snoring their heads off!!

frazzled101 · 25/12/2022 06:33

Yes I woke at 5.45 and can't get back to sleep. Have a 4 and a 1 year old. Hoping they sleep to their normal 7.30 though otherwise they'll be cranky all day!

HowCanIPayItForward · 25/12/2022 06:34

I've naturally woken at 6 every Christmas Day for as long as I can remember. I'm always first. DC wake anywhere between 7 and 9. I'm getting impatient now!
